i test drove a 350 a few weeks ago-- the lack of a back seat/storage is what drove me to the twins-- it's the only smaller coupe platfrom with rwd and stick....

For me, just because its a DD doesn't mean it has to be practical, however I certainly do not want to deal with inconveniences that directly impact driving. My current car has a back seat and I haven't used it once in 7 years, so 2 seat vs 4 doesn't really bother me.

I was actually comparing the base model Z to the brz, (my price range) as I do not believe in financing for a car so nismo would 100% be out of the price range lol. Not too sure the differences in open differential and vlsd and if they have any impact on normal daily use, what ever I get wont be tracked or raced in any way, so maybe someone can chime in if that would be relevant to my use.

Not too happy about the Z's mpg on premium or its appetite for going through tires I have read about either. obviously shows the Z will be a higher cost to run vs the brz, just unclear to exactly how much more in the big picture since no one really knows what the out of warranty picture will look like for brz yet. Still, something tells me brz is probably the smarter direction.

Making decisions SUCKS.

Making decisions SUCKS.

The base Z at $29k is a serious bargain . The 370z stock is a 13.1 second car, I don't think even a $6k vortec install will get a BRz much faster.

But that 29k is really a "get you in the show room price." The open diff just kills the deal imho.

At 3200 lbs its not that much heavier than a brz and it actually has a shorter wheelbase. It also has a double wishbone suspension which is part of the reason it weighs a little more.

As far as maintenance the VQ37 is a proven reliable engine. honestly long term my opinion is the Subaru is much more complex and difficult to work on, I think the Z will be much cheaper to maintain after warranty.

if you could somehow get the 370z with the lsd for under $30k it would be a tough bargain to pass up, they are good cars.

But I love the driving position and visibility of my frs, for a DD sports car that's something that is very important and its something that you can never really improve on the 370z. you can always add HP, fix rattles and engine problems with the brz but you can never add that driver connection to the road that you get with the twins.
