You will start by downloading your currently loaded rom file, send that to the OFT folks who will either create a definition for your ecu id (if they don't already have one) or send you a definition file. By default these are XDF Files used by tuner pro, which is a free download.

You can then install tuner pro, open the XDF file, open your rom and start editing away all you want. Or you can download one of the OFT basemaps (if they have one for your ID). I would highly recommend trying the stage 1 base map assuming it is applicable to your setup. Then you can tweak the base map or start rolling your own etc etc.

I just tested the latest stg1 basemap over the weekend and it is within a few hp of the last pump gas dyno tune i did for my car.

i was just curious how this setup worked im more than happy with my tune/tuner just reading new things lol thanks tho

Their Vortech tune looks pretty solid and they have awesome pricing for OFT users. This is likely the route I'm going and is definitely worth looking into if you are going FI.

Come On Vishnu, make that tune available. I would love for that tune to be available for the dual compressor supercharger I'm developing so I can use it as a baseline for testing...

Send them a message, they may be able to help. I know it's free for OFT users who buy a Vortech from them, I'm unsure what their stance is on giving it out to just their regular OFT customers.

I assume it's due to not all Vortech kits being alike. For instance, I believe I remember Perrin created a custom MAF housing because they found the one Vortech supplies to be erratic. There are also iirc two versions of the Vortech kit.

I was planning on buying one tonight or tomorrow but I was looking into the viability of tuning for FI with it. I hate the idea of spending $1200 for a flash n go tune with ecutek and not being able to modify it at all.

I also don't want to spend $500 if it's virtually impossible to do forced induction tuning with an OFT...

I got the OFT300 tune from them after buying the OFT/OFH. I already had the Vortech kit from another vendor.

When spending 5k+ for FI, fuel and drivetrain upgrades, I don't see the merit in saving 300-400 on the tune. Our EcuTek tunes start at 649 and end at 899 for most common setups (pretty much all you'd run on a stock motor) including hardware/license. Then you get the added features of RaceROM, overboost protection, wideband integration, custom traction control, flex fuel....you get the idea. By far the most cost effective upgrade over any other component of an FI setup. So can you do it? I'm sure. But it doesn't make any sense.
