From what I have read here, I think it's a red pump that's e-free. V Power may not be e-free by itself.

sadly about 40-50 miles from me, I always get it when I go up to Wisconsin though. Not claiming its better but I noticed crickets a lot less while using 0E.

Decided to do a quick mileage test on my Fr-S. At a constant 70MPH, with cruise, 98 deg F, AC on usign 93 non-ethanol I was averaging 39.2PMG over 25 mile stretch, back up to normal 75+MPH was getting 34MPG for the rest of my trip. Wasn't expecting tis good of mileage with the FR-S, bought it for it's ride not mileage. Put roughly 1500 miles in 10 days.

Out of curiosity I emailed Citgo corporate regarding non-ethanol in Houston. I got a real reply from a person! He said Federal regs prohibit selling anything less than ten percent in certain areas (ie large cities). It must be an emissions thing. If you look at that pure-gas site, you'll notice there are virtually no major cities with zero-e stations closer than twenty or so miles. The only exceptions appear to be Tulsa and OKC.

So running 91 octane is fine then (I see a lot of people say that's all they get in CA)

I usually run 93 ethanol free gas, but my station was out of 93 the other day so filled it with 93 from a station which had ethanol. (my crickets came back after 8,000 miles) < it is a fact going back and forth between ethanol gasses, this is what is causing the crickets.

I would have filled with 91 non ethanol at the station, just thought this car required 93...

Just to add my 2 cents, but I always put 93 octane in my car (with some shit ethanol thrown in of course). So out of curiosity a few weeks ago I filled up with ethanol free 90 octane (highest I could find). My crickets went away but the gas mileage plummeted and the car felt a bit more sluggish than usual.

Personally I'd never use less than 93 again.

That's how it is where I live, South East Wisconsin, and Chicago. There is not one station even close to me(less than 50 miles). Too much population density so they have to lower emissions by adding the the ethanol.
