It's just the front two. I don't think it is blown because I used the same method on them all and I had the proper hand tools, but since it's only the front two I have no idea, I took a video ill try and upload it if the audio is good enough.

dumb question is the spring right side up? is the very end of the coil of the spring sitting in the indented area on strut body

I just hit 1000 miles to =/ Well here is the video, it is kind of quiet the audio doesn't really give it justice but you can kind of make out the abnormal sound. [ame]http://youtu.be/OX4Q-hsjSKs[/ame]

Unfortunately that sounds EXACTLY like mine did. Blown strut for sure, I'm afraid.

Really? :/ are they fixable or do they need to be replaced? How much can the strut spin without blowing I can't imagine I moved it much. When yours were blown was it from a spring swap or they just failed, I wonder if the front two are more sensitive considering the two rear ones are fine.

put back your stock springs in the front and see if they make the same noise. If they do then it could be a blown strut. OR you can take it to a a shop and see what they say.

that will be my project tomorrow, when I first went to swap my springs I took the first one out (front right) and then realized I needed the pass through socket to get the top off, when I put it back it was making that noise, after swapping all the springs the front two are making the noise, so maybe it is a strut issue.

Agreed, sounds like a blown strut. Probably just on one side, but get that stock suspension back on. You have two options, get it fixed for free with another stock one from the dealership, or get Koni's. I vote get it fixed for free, buy the Koni's in a couple years.

Mine was from a spring swap. I actually got lucky and did the fronts first with the air gun with no issues, then broke the first rear strut I started on. I didn't want to mess with the fronts anymore and ended up just buying a new rear strut myself. Good luck, hope you get it fixed soon.

The spring swap was a pain and took forever, I should of waited and got konis, I'm thinking if I swap back to stock and take it back, whenever they fix it, I would still have to try and take it off to put on my new springs because I don't really like the stock hight and who knows if I'd just have the same problem again :/ I wouldn't be able to get konis for a couple weeks though. Would these be ok to drive on for a few weeks or do I need to park my car until this is fixed?

you can drive on it, but I would fix it asap. You know how to do it now, it should be MUCH faster this time. Too bad you aren't closer, I would help you out.

Are konis more durable? If I bought them I'd be afraid I'd blow them out or something and have this same issue :/

Yes, MUCH. I plan on going with them when the car is out of warranty in two years. Until then, I'll swap the stock stuff back on if the shocks blow. No need to spend extra money before necessary
