Never mind. I ended up sucking it up and just notching the metal covering on one spot for the passenger side and two areas on the driver's side for fuel injector adapter clearance. I probably went through 4 dremel attachments. It was a bitch but it's done. If the metal covering exerts any pressure on the adapter/fuel injector combo, you get a spray of fuel all over the place. Don't ask how I know! |

This is something that irks me. Why can't that have that tied to the VIN number so when you need to order them they could have just looked up your car to see what was installed. Ugh........

Sorry! I just looked and I don't think can take any good photos showing the notches I made. On the passenger side metal covers, the DI ECU is blocking view of the notches I made. I'll post a picture of the driver's side which shows the one notch I made but it's not a very good picture. Basically the the DW injector/adapter combo sticks out too far. Simply cut into the metal covers so that the injector/adapters clear. Once you have injectors installed on the fuel rail, it will be very obvious where the metal covers are fouling the injectors.

I actually went with a Denso 260lph from Chris over at Speed By Design. It's technically not approved for e85 but I wanted OE reliability.

The factory covers would rub and hit like mad. This was 1 of the many cutting completed to get my turbo kit to install. I don't want to talk about how much I had to cut into the factory HID headlights to get the pipe from the inter-cooler to intake to fit.
If that cover is applying ANY pressure your better off cutting it entirely vs causing it to rub and short while driving it. The last thing you need is the damn wires to shorting out when driving. No one likes tow trucks. ![]()
