You might have seen the true flow video, it should be on You Tube.

For sure clean our filters with foam filter cleaner, we use the Uni Filter cleaner, and it works great!

Normally they only need to be cleaned every 7-10,000 miles or so.

It may seem like a tighter fit if it is not sitting in the air box correctly and the bottom hinges are not lined up. The best way to ensure that it is seated correctly, is to simply remove the air box from the vehicle and install the filter and then reinstall the air box.

I bought Mo-Tech foam filter cleaner that's 100% v/v liquid hydro carbons and Castrol foam air filter oil. Hopefully they're up to the job too?

Thanks. I found one.

Yes, that will do the job just fine. Any foam filter cleaner and oil will do the task!

What I am impressed with is the filtration. It's been summer here so there's dust around and being WA it's got a fair amount of iron oxide in it which sounds bad for the bores if it gets through.
I pulled the MAF sensor out recently to check it was clean and oil free, I had a look inside the inlet after the filter too.
The MAF sensor was spotless but I gave it a rinse in electrical cleaner while it was out. The inlet was also spotless and I even grabbed some white tissues to wipe the inside with, they were still white after over 4,000km.

Before I bought it I watched the video where they pour dirt over the various filters in the test machine and of course, the Perrin is the only one that stops all the dirt, even when they dump extra in. I was sceptical to say the least.

It seems it does filter extremely well and since my average fuel consumption is 10% below the official figures it must be flowing air ok too.

I would be interested if anyone has done a dyno comparison with this filter but for a drop in seems to offer first class filtration.

Did you find much oil in the intake or on the MAF? I have a perrin filter arriving soon so i was wondering if i will have to clean it out from time to time.

There was no oil in the intake. It was clean and dry.
The filter was certainly oiled when I got it because I kept it in the spare room with the Nameless exhaust and you could smell the oil, even through the plastic bag it was in.
That shows how important it is to get it right re-oiling because done right it filters perfectly without releasing any oil.

Just installed mine. Taking out the airbox and then replacing it is DEFINITELY the way to go with this. Three bolts to get it out and way easier than trying to shove it in through the narrow opening with it in.

How does it feel? Pulls harder? Did you reset the compbox? Via unplugging the negative batt terminal?

Give me a couple days and I'll let you know. Reset everything but didn't get a chance to take it out on the road today.

I reset my ECU a month ago, just to see what would happen.
I regretted doing it as soon as I drove it after letting it idle for the prescribed time. It was flat and the throttle pedal delay was back almost as bad as when it was first learning out of the showroom.
There was a noticeable loss of power at the top end but it's all come good after taking some time to optimise itself again.
It wasn't in my head. I was expecting a power gain and the fact that it lost power stood out like dog's balls and I was instantly depressed in case it stayed that way.
Luckily it didn't!

How that relates to resetting the ECU on the dyno you have to wonder?
