It shouldn't affect solid state memory like the ones used in iPhones.

Came here to say this. You can mess up your phone's compass by placing magnets next to it for a prolonged period of time. Depending on your phone model, there may be a way to manually recalibrate it if so. I know for some (perhaps all?), you have to wave the phone in front of you parallel to the ground in a figure 8 pattern.

So if you start to notice your compass getting all wonky, give this a try.

how is your phone holding up? i found that two 15lb Magnets, on the phone case and my GS3 is enough to hold it in place.

i also have a n52 magnet with 80lbs of force will cause that colored pixels on the lcd to mess up. but it doesnt cripple the phone.

also how do i take the bezel around the HU off without taking everything else out.

i discovered this by accident. but buy using two magnets i can make the the phone tilt.

Not if you're using flash memory like all smart phones. Just don't attach a traditional disc drive.

Well I ended up trying this. It works pretty well (better for my very light radar detector display), but if anyone else is going to do it, FIND SOMEONE OTHER THAN K&J!! I have never worked with a worse company in my life.

My entire order was like $8 for magnets and $5 for shipping. When I got it, the two thinnest magnets were cracked in half. I sent an email explaining the situation with a picture, and then asking for them to just replace them with a cheaper, thicker magnet that would hopefully stand up to the trip. I got a form response saying they weren't responsible for any damage after it left their facility. I responded saying that this was a simple fix and that I paid for four magnets and they shouldn't be fine with two showing up broken. And then I was ignored for a couple of days, so I finally sent another saying if they either didn't refund or replace, I would be disputing charges and negatively review them everywhere I could. Finally I got a response saying they were refunding the $1 cost of the actual magnets (but not shipping) that they very plainly blamed me for breaking. I will still be disputing charges and will never use these guys again.

Sorry I can't help you with that. But yeah, they pretty much told me in one email how they are brittle and very breakable by nature, so they can't take responsibility, and then in another told me they know it's my fault because there is no way that only two magnets (even though the other two were much thicker) could be broken in a box.
