Ideas for a hidden magnetic phone-mount.
.
|
given the fact that most wireless charging stations use magnets to position the phone on the pad, I would think this will not hurt your phone.
Just an idea though, if your phone is capable of wireless charging, you could hack up a palm touch stone (or similar) and mount that behind the dash so that it charges your phone as well as hold it in place |
Nice! Auto charger would have been a sweet touch. Pics of the magnet for the phone side?
|
Might be a dumb question, but does your case have the magnets needed to hold your phone up or does your phone itself have them? I have a GS3 and REALLY want to do something like this. I want to put a touchstone charger back there as well as an NFC tag. I read that the charger will interfere with the NFC however but ill work that out later. I am just worried that the strength of the magnets required to hold the phone up might bork the phone.

That is really sweet! I was thinking about making some sort of phone holder. Now I'm going to make one with some magnet holes so I can just hook it up to the dash

So glad I stumbled upon this!
I already order magnets for a oil filter magnet a week ago |
Clever setup.

Scratches?
Neat idea, but I wonder what the potential is to create scratches (albeit small) on the plastic trim piece from repeated contact.

Nice to see it work.
Just one question, do you really need the knife or would the magnets grab the phone's battery sufficiently strong ? |
Very nice idea man. I might do something similar.

wow, this is kind of genius.
