Is it true that your insurance premium drops a lot when you turn 25?

no is it not true that insurance companies will increase insurance rates on the brz/fr-s... the cars arent accident prone...the DRIVERS are.

however i do feel that the Symbol rating of the brz/fr-s will increase/change this year or next. Insurance companies do not choose the rating of each car, nor do they complete the crash testing/safety ratings. that job is left up to the ISO... (The Insurance Services Office, Inc. )The ISO analyzes data and statistics about vehicles to provide insurance carriers with rating information about a vehicle's theft susceptibility, safety features and cost to repair. Insurance carriers obtain this information through ISO symbols for different makes and models of vehicles. So every insurance company gets the vehicles symbol rating from the ISO, It is not uncommon for a vehicles symbol to change 1 or more times and from my experience its usually based on statisical data that is available at that given time. Because this was a new production vehicle for scion/toyota/subaru... the inital testing may have not been completed when the vehicle was released, so insurance companies used the inital symbol which may have been considered preliminary

usually when a car is out for several years like the civic, corolla, camry, accord, etc... the symbols dont change that drastically but they do change in most cases year to year with each new model year because of cost of parts, damagability, cost of labor, newer technology..etc

in most states males are usually considered youthful drivers until they each the age of 30. 25 is normally the age for unmarried females to become adult drivers. but you should see your auto insurance decrease over time as you gradually reach the age of 30 assuming you dont have accidents and tickets to cause your insurance rates to increase. . your age or birthday is normally updated at each renewal regardless when your birthday happens during your policy effective dates.

Holy god! For this and my 91 Miata (full coverage on both, just in case), like 1800/6mo. I shopped around for other agencies and they wanted like 4k/6 months. Not the cleanest record, but no insurance claims for a very long time. Allstate. Mike, incoming PM lol.

In NY, I'm paying $2000/6 months with State Farm for full coverage. This is with a terrible record filled with minor accidents and speeding tickets.

Geico and AllState quoted me at like $4500/6 months.

I'm in NY. I switched to geico when I got the BRZ, only paying $89.98/month. State farm was quoting me about double that. I'm 27 years old and have a clean record

In Pittsburgh PA, with a SWP Limited BRZ, 22 y/o, No accidents/tickets, 250/500 deductible, ~1500 a year, its 1400 a year if I pay all at once.

This is with Erie Insurance. I got quoted lower at other places but I have had Erie insurance since I was 16 and they are great, no nonsense insurance agents. Also, on Erie I get the adult drive discount at 24.

FWIW I turned 25 this week, and even with a $4.5k claim from Sandy and a 0pt ticket in the last few months, my rates have gone down

The good news for you young guys is that it gets cheaper over time. Get married, get older, buy a home and own multiple cars. I'm 34.

$890/12 months. NJ Skylands. It was originally $600 for 12 months, but my wife just got into a fender bender, so I'll be paying this higher rate for 3 years.
