Just chimed in to say I promote leaving the car in neutral, unless a unique situation requires otherwise (like parking on a very steep hill, or you car has an electronic parking brake, which ours do not).

I have had this happen a couple of times on my 86 GTS AT.
I find it only happens when I don't solidly push the stop/start button, i.e. only tap it. The engine will sound like it is about to stop but then the revs pick up again. It just reminds me to stop being a fairy and give the button a decent push. This has occurred with both the standard button and the TRD button fitted so I don't think it is a button issue. |
