TPMS, in my experience with other brands, will not interfere with your TC so, you should be in no way going to be in limp mode

TPMS sensors won't affect anything. Only thing is that you will have a light on your dash. I will be running my winters without TPMS.

In addtion you need to reset your car with the new set of TPMS sensors. Thus you will have to pay the stealership every time you switch tires. You can reset it yourself. However, you will have to buy a special tool.

Yes, I agree with you. I certainly have no intention to pay the stealership every time I switch tires.

No TPMSs for me either, it's only 3 months or so per year, provideing that the original TMPS will operate normally once I switch to the original OEM package in the Spring.

I quoted myself a set of Blizzak WS70s in 205/55/16, 16in Steelies, TPMS (I'd rather not look at a light for 4/5 months) for like $1,150 including shipping. Damn. At least they mount and balance the tire!

Couple questions. Anyone know of a tool I could buy that I can change my TPMS IDs in the ECU so I don't have to go to the dealership for it? It'll save me money in the long wrong, depending on how much they'll charge.

Also, does anyone know if any lug nuts will work providing they're the same thread pattern? I want to keep the OEM ones with the OEM wheels. I want to find a set in black to match the steelies.

EDIT: Also, to the you guys who have the wheels already, when do you plan on putting them on? I really want to see what they look like on the car.

fuck that, go on nasioc and get some wrx wheels with blizzaks already mounted and profit.

Well the wheels themselves are quite cheap. Tires are ~130 each and since I want TPMS, that's like 250 more.

I'm still debating whether I want 'performance winter' rubber, or full 'ice and snow'.
I drive it like I stole it daily, and have some flexibility to stay at home if it's unplowed. I love to play in the snow though..

Currently leaning toward a compromise: 'ice and snow rubber' of OEM size on a 7.5"-wide rim.

Decisions...

I went with the WS70 because they get better snow and ice traction. I live in the Cincinnati area, and they suck at clearing roads and salting. We get a fair amount of ice too. I figure with a Winter tire I want to get the best traction to keep my out of a ditch. The only thing worse than an off road excursion is an off road excursion when it's really cold out!

I picked mine up this week, and will likely put them on in the next couple of weeks once the temperatures start to dip below freezing over night. I will post pics then if no one else has yet.
