There was a guy who posted a spreadsheet with engine speed vs vehicle speed with the 6MT at each gear. I have it but I converted it properly to km/h so it wouldn't help you much.

At 7400rpm:
1st = 57km/h (~35mph)
2nd = 94km/h (~58mph)
3rd = 134km/h (~83mph)
4th = 170km/h (~106mph)
5th = 206km/h (~128mph)
6th = 269km/h (~167mph)

6th + redline is also likely impossible on stock power in real world conditions.

Cam Gear Failure

Sadly,

Just bought my FR-S about 4-weeks ago. Encountered a failure of the Cam Gear / VVT at 2400miles. The car is now in the shop with no idea how long it will take to obtain the parts as they are back-ordered.

My problems started right before the failure when I was sitting in traffic. I started experiencing very rough idle as if I'd lost a cylinder (misfire). I placed the car in neutral and revved a couple of times to 1500 rpm and the problem appeared to go away. At the next light the problem occurred once again and would not go away. I pulled the car over and turned it off to let it rest for a bit. Upon restarting, I immediately encountered a check engine light and what appeared to be a traction control light. I limped the car home with I'd what I'd guess to say 1/2 the power as I couldn't climb a hill without flooring it.

Needless to say I was extremely excited about this car. Now I am a tad-bit disappointed and worried that other things may go wrong. I suppose it's the price you pay for early adoption.

Thanks for the forum! It was sad that others have encountered this problem, but at the same time it was a strange relief knowing I wasn't the only one. Hopefully, Toyota / Subaru can use this information and offer a recall so that others don't encounter this problem.
