After digging into this it seems the car should be able to be a step up from our e30 anyway, and as you mentioned all of the extra costs may make it difficult to run the car as frequently. If it is a power:weight ratio classing, and it uses peak power, a NA FA20 or a centrifugal supercharged one are horrible prospects to have a competitive car. Just more food for though.
My take would be, strip the car down to bare metal, swap in a light but powerfull engine (k series for example) and remove all the electronics except for the bare minimum (ECU and engine related stuff). Electrical gremlins are a royal pain in the butt and prolonged exposure to heat makes those show up quickly. |
