I've been playing in CS with the following:

17x7 Koesei wheels and 245/40/17 Hoosier A6 tires
Camber bolts

I'm waiting for somebody to come out with OEM replacement shocks.
I would not put a bigger front sway bar on the car without shocks as
that would just aggravate the existing low speed understeer.

Also note that the nose is soft plastic so hitting cones will easily scratch
it and center punching a cone can put a dent in the nose. Ask me how I know.
The dent did pop out but I'm missing an under tray connector or two.

Sounds like a Subaru, we've been doing this to the WRX all year (popping panels back in place).

Yeah I have been debating the clear bra in front and will likely do it. My past cars I didn't really care but with the BRZ I want to keep it somewhat nice. Already have a dent in the hood where something from a tree fell on it... I've been known to hit a lot of cones.

As for the Velox PG-5S I didn't know if Velox still made them or not so I just called up their HQ and they happened to have 6 17x7 5x100 +42 in stock. With the 245/40/17 A6 mounted on them the combo weighs less than 34lbs, which is about 8lbs lighter than the stock wheels/tires.

I am waiting to see what shock options materialize. I've spoken with a few shops thus far and all have been very willing to work to make something for the FR-S/BRZ but of course it's not cheap.

On the other hand, a bit bigger RSB might help with turn-in.
I've only autox'ed it once, and on stock tires.

I'm not thinking it needs a HUGE front bar... I guess it depends on what you are calling HUGE. Also this is not your typical Subaru. It'd balanced differently, and doesn't have that FWD thing going on. In fact this is something I've been harping on, it's kind of scary the assumptions that some folks are making with regard to setup based on what they did with their previous Subaru's. RWD cars with big, high bias limited slips is what I'm used to, and you don't set them up the same way.

I am working on (and should have the prototype here this week) a tubular 22mm bar for the front. Eventually when I work on some links, I will also make that in an adjustable version.

The driver feels and reacts to the stiffer end of the car. You don't want that being the rear. Also the front does the turn-in work, and most of the rolling. Add to that this car has a small tendency to be loose, more so with additional negative camber.

I know when pushing my car hard (which is more of an STX car since it has coil-overs on it) when Autoxing it, I want more roll control and that's with springs that are about twice as stiff as stock. But I don't want it via spring because it isn't too stiff on the road. My plan is simple. 22mm front, and possibly an adjustable 16mm bar in the rear for balance. I do want to make both adjustable in the long run. A non-adjustable 16mm rear is an idea and will be cheaper since it won't require different links, but if I'm going to bother I want what I want.

I, personally, am keeping in close contact with Koni NA about this matter. I sell a LOT of Koni every year. Every Championship I've won, but one, has been on Koni's. I will know when they arrive, and I will make sure I procure a goodly number. Thing is that's not imminent.

Keep me in the loop on the Konis!! I'm really interested. I need an adjustable shock since NY roads suck. I watched Don Slevin run his FS mustang a couple weeks ago in NNJR on a Strano setup and he won PAX over some ridiculously prepped cars. I'm a Strano believer lol (albeit I will be a first time customer)

^^ Get in line for the Konis. Glad to hear you are a Strano convert. I posted this in another thread but I had a Strano setup on my C5 Z06 and loved it as it was not only a joy to drive but always at or near top PAX. Looking to do the same with the BRZ.

I'm glad you got to see some of my work up close. Fwiw that Mustang of Slevin's sports one of my proprietay rear sway bars.

This is where I remind folks I do work alone, currently, and I'm not the most computer centric person. Hence the list of stuff on my site tends to suffer. I generally spend time talking to folks over typing. Seriously if you guys are after some type of part you don't see, please call me.

I'm due to have a front bar to test fit next week. If its all good I will trigger production and maybe have something to ship out just after Solo Nationals. Fingers crossed!

I will attest to what Sam said, his site doesnt display all the products he can provide. call, email or PM him if there is something you are looking for. We purchased a clutch through Sam for the GXP when one was needed in short order even though he doesnt list it on his site.

Thanks for sharing guys, next up is some camber adjustment to play with. We only have 2 events left, but def interested to see how much dif it makes.

Most people going -1 to -2degree upfront for most part? Does this make rear much looser or just more bite turning in?

Thank you,

It depends on several factors. On the simple, what's your means of adjustment? If its crash bolts, then you want to max out what they give around -1.3 or so. You'll probably wish you had more than that but its a lot better than the minimal stock unless you have lowered your car already.

Yeah, just wheels/tires on the car for mods.

Def will look into those bolts for some extra camber, cheap too!

Thank you
