Well I'm going to have to disagree with this statement. We purchased a FRS Series 1 car. The series 1 has the more expensive ($500) key fob. that is supposed to make the car very hard to steal. The Ironic thing is that car was bought at auction, and the car had been stolen previously. Amazingly the Russian salesman told us all the missing parts were inside the vehicle when they bought it.
All the cars have the chipped key fob. If it was stolen it was because the key was in it or it was towed. If it was stolen by the pros it would not have been recovered.

. One known technique is to still the car, strip it and leave the body where it will be found quickly. Buy the car back at Auction and re-assemble and sell with a legit title.

A lot of trouble to go through for a $12K salvage title car.

Well, it's a known technique; known to not be applied to this car.

If there are any engines left of this car I would swap them to keep this car forever. I doubt there will ever be a car with the feeling an frs has. That or a Mclaren
