That's sad to hear! Not too long ago he rebuilt my diff with a 3.73 FD, solid spacer, and supra bearing while installing a Harrop diff cover too under his exchange program. He did really good work too......

Yes. As for limitations, not sure. I dont think i have ever heard of anyone grenading these diffs from power, but i could be wrong. From research they seem to be very similar to the is300 diffs and those have been known to hold 700+rwhp regularly without issue.

Mark got a job offer he couldn't refuse, and has a baby on the way, I believe in July. The benefits were just to good to pass up and with a new baby he wanted the best for his wife and soon to arrive child. He loved doing his own thing but loves his family more, so who can blame him right.
I have used weir performance out of cali several times, Spencer Weir is a stand up guy. And yes the factory diffs hold 700 plus hp easily Ive been beating on mine for 2 or 3 years dumping the clutch at 7000rpm at 20 psi of boost.... You don't need all that fancy high dollar stuff to be dependable.

The carrier bearings are good to go but the pinion bearings are a little on the small side get the upgraded pinion bearings and solid sleeve.

"As far as the parts Spencer Fab was using, they were purchasing all of this from us. We always use the solid pinion spacer on our builds and the upgraded pinion bearings as well. All of these parts are listed on your estimate emailed earlier. I'll get this going as soon as possible once I am back from my vacation, thanks." So it looks like the Weir Performance route is a good way to go but you will just need to supply him with the diff up front. |
