I kept the rpm's quite low, at about 3400, only gasssing it to to 3900 out of the turn and then shifting to past 55 mph. It did this turn steady and smooth, minor amount of tire screech (just a tiny amount noticed). Traction control never came on, and when I turned right out of the turn quickly after a full 360, the car did not do what all other cars I have driven do, it did not snap back and forth. No motion, just redirected itself to where I went, no dramatics, no roll, no nothing.

this car is sick!
With better tires you can push a bit over 60 on that before breaking loose and at about 70 it's a full drift. Gotta do it late on a Tuesday night though The one at Fire Island is smaller so the speed is lower but it's also a whole big ball o' fun

I would have to learn how to drift first. Sounds a bit dangerous for a snazy car. I imagine with better tires it would hit 55+. That is a lot of centrifugal force. It has 7.5" wheels. I wonder if 225's make more sense or the 215's. 215's have better fuel economy and seem to be fine enough. If it was an 8" wheel, 225 would be perfect for this purpose.

It's a good place to learn how to do that. Just be careful because the SP Police have pretty much all of the same powers of a Trooper and they don't like when we play in their front yard.

I'm running stock size Conti EC DWS on stock wheels but it was really warm (over 80*) when I did it so the pavement was sticky and the tires were hot from the highway run out there. That's usually enough to add a few mph by itself but I have a bit of experience with that circle from taking cars out there to "test" them for over 30 years. The first time I did it was the summer of '84 in my old 200SX before tweaking it, then again the next summer after it was worked. With that car I was able to get pretty much the same results after the work was done and I had a bunch of track time.

I feel sad for anyone running dws except during winter. They are not made with dry grip
in mind. While I've only had them on the outback Id bet money they diminish handling even over the stock primacy. Get a set of mps and I bet ya can do 8-10mph faster around that roundabout without your tires giving up.

DWS06 are amazing for an all season. Not sure why you think they're worse than the primacies that's pretty blasphemous.

Experience tells you this or are you assuming that a tire that has good cold weather properties can't be good on warm, dry pavement? I can tell you that the difference between these tires and the lrr crap that comes on the car is huge. The disparity between these and a dedicated sport/summer tire is smaller.

I feel bad for anybody running them IN winter!
They are not a snow tire and calling any tire "All Season" is bullshit.

Falken all season performance did well on my mini cooper in the snow. best so far in 11 years with that car. SOme are not that bad, not many though.

I will have to save up a LOT of money this winter for PP fitting rims + true winter performance tires. I don't want steel. I go as fast in winter 98% of the time as I do in summer. I wonder if I should mount and dismount the tires for two seasons. People are edgy about that. I do want to keep that lateral grip and cornering in the winter next year.

If you drive this car in the winter the same as the summer you will end up looking for a new one. No winter performance tire made will save you if you swing that ass out too fast or too far on a snowy road or icy road. Not saying you can't have fun but you will need to reign things in quite a bit. It ain't no Mini.

I know exactly where that is! Theres a roundabout just north of the new Cowboys facility inf Frisco that I love going around.

that is just not true. There are some pretty awesome driving roads in the country. Some amazing scenery and nice twists and turns, and then whoops! a tiny town whose main street might be half a mile long and the speed limit goes down, and then back to middle of nowheresville. Fun stuff.
