I will have a look today to see what tune is running, and probably re-flash either way. Thanks!
Dont worry dealer flashing your ecu wont upset oft or brick your ecu, oft tunes are not locked or encrypted.

The only thing that would be an issue is if you had e85 and tune in car and dealer flashed back to stock petrol tune.

oh, if you want to get your iam back to 1 quickly, do a few light steady throttle runs from 2000 to 5000 or so in second gear , just light steady throttle and let rpm build fairly slowly and smoothly

According to my OFT this morning it was still running OFH2 ots tune... I reflashed it anyway with an updated version and somehow that still solved the problem.

Seems to be starting at IAM 1 and staying there for now.

OFT doesn't show you what rom is on the ECU, it only shows the previously flashed slot.

I'm glad we figured out the issue. However, I'm pretty pissed they went ahead and flashed my ECU after leaving specific instructions not to.

I even witnessed the service desk write "DO NOT touch OBDII port, car is tuned" on the service slip.

+1 on what wayno said the * next to tune on oft screen only shows which tune slot was flashed last by oft, it does not actually check tune in car. All you can check with oft is the calibration id. If you uploaded a new tune to oft in same slot oft would still have the * in same slot.

If you knew the checksum value CVN of the stock rom and the CVN of the tuned rom you could check that, i carnt remember if oft will read CVN in info or ecu screens.

Definition of "fluctuate": vary irregularly

Did your IAM "vary" - yes
Was it "irregular" - Yes by your own admission.

Therefore your IAM "fluctuated".

I would be asking: "Did they clean your MAF sensor?"
If - YES, "did they use the approved cleaner or just something from the local auto parts store?"

I see now that you solved the problem.
Sorry I don't always read the entire thread before commenting, I'm just a troll that way...

So you essentially TOLD the dealer that you do not want your warranty any more?

IAM started at .70 (and always .70) the minute the key was turned. OFT showed IAM 1 with key on but only as default. I wouldn't call that fluctuating, but I see your point. My car is no longer under warranty and also this was at a Subaru dealership (its a scion). If I did need warranty work it wouldn't be with them.

Ah, I guess I am spoiled with the 100,000 mi, 7 year warranty.

And as others have pointed out, the startup behavior is different with a tune vs. stock.
I would be pissed if they flashed the ECU when explicitly told not to.

If you had FI and they did that, they could be held liable for a new engine when it detonates.
