I'll let Rob and Shiv work on that It isnt a problem with tuning, it is a function of the large compressor and small displacement engine. Trust me, work is being done

Did you get any video's on E85?

I want to see that acceleration. Are you going to back to E85 when the road trip is complete?

Thanks,

Now the next thing for @shiv@vishnu to do is post the dyno results up for all to see!

Would be nice if you could add a "full bolt on stage2" and "full bolt on e85" to the dyno plot to get a idea of the different area under the curve to a fully upgraded car.

Thanks,
Traffic leaving Sacramento this morning, so no vids. Definitely going back to e85. Car is more animalistic under e85.

On a sidenote drag reduction seems fixed. It requires a good pull to start things off, and then works fine. Possibly getting stuck rob?

Hey Sojhinn, how does the car feel (E85 and 91) to other cars you have driven? I.E. have you owned/driven anything fairly fast, like an E46 M3, etc? I'd like to read some subjective 'seat of the pants' comparisons on how the car feels compared to other 'fast' cars. Thx!

That's a tough one. As I don't have the much experience in fun cars. Also I'm a father of two children so all my money and my wife's goes to them. I think I'm the only BRZ owner with two car seats in the back .

I need to think about my days renting exotics at enterprise. Let me get back to you.

Lol no you're not, I have an 8 year old and a 6 year old I routinely stuff in the back. They're my cheering section when I go fast ("wheee!"). That's why I love the FR-S/BRZ, it's like an S2000 with a hard top and back seat (well sort of).

Just looking for some reference points, thanks.

I owned a E46 330Ci with ZHP package from 2005 to 2007. This was the model that sat between the regular 330 and an M3. I loved driving that car...but hated owning it (lots of trips to the deal for failed sensors). While there are quite a few years between driving the two cars I can tell you that my BRZ is more entertaining. Since installing the ESC I can tell you on a number of times that I've thought to myself that the BRZ-ESC is on par in performance, especially passing power, to my BMW.

I don't think that the BRZ-ESC would run with an E46 M3.

You must be shorter than me. I don't have the seat all the way back because I like to be close to the wheel, but there the only way for my kids to sit behind me is Indian-style.

My kids aren't so much a cheering section as a nausea section.

I'm 6'2" 200 lbs, my wife is 5'11", my 8 year old daughter is 55" and 95th percentile, my 6 year old is a wee tiny dancer I sit a little closer to the steering wheel when they're in the back, and they sit indian style usually. Thing is, there's no leg room but the seats in the back are actually deep and are leaned back so there's plenty of space to put your legs indian style. Everybody's quite comfy - given the longest drive we've done so far in the FR-S is around 2 1/2 hours. No long hauls.

That makes sense - I'd think it might be on par with my old E36 M3 (loved that car)

I didn't think it would run with an E46 M3, at least not on the top end, but think about it for a minute:

E46 M3 ~= 3450 lbs + 200 lb passenger = 3650 lbs/275rwhp = 13.27 lb/rwhp

ESC Twin ~= 2750 lbs + 200 lb passenger = 2950 lbs/200rwhp = 14.75 lb/rwhp, it's getting close

and...

ESC Twin on E85 = 2950 lbs/225 rwhp = 13.11 lbs/rwhp
