All you need to understand is on a lower reading Dyno the gains are also smaller when compared to a higher reading Dyno. So if you put a exhaust on a car and pickup 20whp on a dynojet , you would only pickup 15whp on a low reading Dyno.

When I was in Cali I used a mustang Dyno and dynojet on the same day.. One Dyno showed 199whp, other showed 240whp

Anyways-
With the smaller pulley I could make up for lack of boost with timing.. I didn't see any real big power difference between 91 and 93 octane... 5whp isnt anything to talk about. I've had similar results with some of the turbo kits I've been working on. No doubt the FA20 motor is a strange beast.

Making max HP is not what I want to do, I want reliable and consistent results.. For me the car needs make the same power at least 3 times in a row on back to back Dyno runs with no cool off...

With 100octane or e85 I would expect a 30-40whp bump In power with the smaller pulley.

John
No I wasn't quoting perrins #s for the high #s. I was highlighting the large difference in power between the stock pulley and the 10psi pulley. A difference in power will show up even if you are on a mustang dyno. Sounds to me you are able to squeeze a lot of power out of the 7 psi pulley since you can advance timing enough to equal the gains of 3 more psi.

Really intriguing results.

Perrin also had their exhaust system on the car. What parts of the exhaust I don't know, but I remember them saying something about it in their thread. John, any thoughts on what kind of gains could come from an exhaust system added to this kit? With the stock pulley and the smaller pulley?

If we have your pumpgas and e85 and get the innovate tuner kit is there an additional cost for tuning.

I have had all my race motors tuned on Mustang Dyno's. They are in my mind the real deal. The loads simulating and everything that it offer's tends to hurt some ego's.

John,
I'm getting a base line dyno from a local shop on Tuesday. I will do three pulls and do the same after I've installed the SC kit.

Gregg

I decided for my use the Vortech was perfect. I love the car as a high strung car. Also I think a large torque hit may make it a bit slower at the track. For me I like the way the car feels I just want sugar on top.

Pretty much agree completely. I love the steady building power right to redline. It just feels more and more insane as the revs build and keeps on revving well passed what most of your passengers think it should..... I'm getting a little aroused... I think I have a problem...

Yes.

Anyone that goes forced induction will need to purchase another tune. I haven't priced out anything on the innovate kit just yet

As I understand it, adding an exhaust to an NA engine will give less gains vs adding the same exhaust to a SC'd engine. So would it be safe to say the 243 that you got on 91 octane would look more like 220-230 on an otherwise stock car.

Edit, was that 243 also on a Mustang Dyno?
