Sorry bud must suck to be such a sensitive guy
Your last sentence really speaks volumes on your personality.

You don't need to be a tree hugger to appreciate kindness. And are we really getting into the definition of negative vs positive? You're really stretching there..it's pretty standard to perceive comments that oppose a topic to be considered "negative".

"That type of thinking buckets people into the society we have today- a society in which people are goaded and ridiculed into conformity or congruence"
Is OP being ridiculed for his choice?

I, again, did not say that there is "savage bashing" or anything even close to that, so once again you're putting words in my mouth for the sake of justifying the content of your last paragraph that you wanted to fit into your response. " "

There's nothing wrong with being NICE or POLITE to people. If you are at work and someone is wearing an ugly sweater, you don't need to go out of your way to tell them that it's ugly. You don't need to express negativity all the time. It's not a requisite of being a member of a forum either.. your opinion is apparently opposite of that, and you're entitled to it. My opinion is people should have more restraint with negative opinions of people's choices.
Again who are you to say anything about what is considered a negative or positive opinion?

That type of thinking buckets people into the society we have today- a society in which people are goaded and ridiculed into conformity or congruence, for fear of having a dissenting opinion is seen as a step backwards, or towards bigotry.

There's nothing wrong with being UPFRONT and HONEST with people. Especially if the sentiments are being expressed on a PUBLIC thread. I agree with you that it is another thing to be outright RUDE or HURTFUL to somebody. In my opinion, if you think telling someone their underglow looks rice as hell, you're being overly sensitive about it all and I feel sorry for someone who takes that victim approach to confrontations of this scope and scale. The statement you quote is a modality from me, a perspective, that argues socratic discussions in general are stifled by this socio-political "correctness" and "sensitivity" we all must buy into nowadays to not look like bigots, or be discriminated against for having an opinion.

--

Lets get to the crux of this issue of attacking a person versus voicing opinion, or responsing to the OP, on his public thread:

Now if I would have said to you,

"Sorry you feel that way bud.. must suck to be such a sensitive guy. Might want to blog about it."

^ see how that is personal, and not an honest or fair extrapolation of what I think about you? Completely different.

Therefore, again, was Bugz getting personally assaulted? Or were people chiming into his PUBLIC thread about what THEY think his gear is doing to the image of his car, which, by the way, they're entitled to think.

In response, and in fairness, Bugz also is entitled to HIS views and sentiments!

Bugz has in good spirit made a very compelling point that HE thinks it is classy and he supports this with EVIDENCE. Not just strictly personal opinion- he shows us the fruits of his labor and to that affect nobody can talk that down. Nobody can tell him he's wrong in the way he thinks.

That's the beauty of it all.

We don't need to be in agreeance to respect each other's thoughts. To that affect, Bugz is in a better position hearing the honest sentiments of his fellow community members than if we all would have held hands and said, "ya bro ur cars tight". The real world passes judgement, it would be a fallacy and ignorant fault to believe that human beings will stop judging if we buy into this political correctness and 'sensitivity'/'tolerance' bullshit that stifles meaningful, truthful discussions.

Thanks Anthony for the discussion so far

ahh- thats it, I see now. I had my draft posted and scrambled to fill in the details. Gotta love juggling tabs on this very productive friday

I agree with you that a pitchfork mob mentality and beatdown of any unpopular belief, sentiment, or even somebody's simple existance or expression is wrong and should also be taken into consideration.

To that affect I believe we are arguing for the same point there. There is a level of cognisance that dissenters must acknowledge about to what affect their contending points will have in the greater conversation

Notice he also knows that without his pro-tune he's right at 192. LOL. I love it. Must have taken the measurements from his butt dyno, which also confirmed that he can feel the performance increase of his driveshaft.
Well here is my "butt dyno". A one piece, lighter weight driveshaft will definitely free up power to the wheels and thus why my WHEEL HP is at 192.

Oh... So you got that change in HP from JUST the driveshaft. Is that what you are suggesting?
