Hey all, I recently had a custom design company replicate the “BRZ tS” license plate on the Canadian Press cars. I liked it so much that I asked them to see if they could make one and they had no problem. Since my car will be a super low mileage garages car, I’m not planning to mount my actual plates, and these look better than my dealership paper plates. I’ll be receiving them next week so I’ll check out the quality when I get them but they have good ratings.

If anyone is interested the link is right here: Custom BRZ tS Show Car License Plate

Well these people can post better lap times than many SC'ed or turbo cars. Not only with the weight difference, but it is easier to modify these ones and be competitive. So yes they are a few, but they make a difference!

How cool would it be to get a 2700 pound BRZ (with a carbon fiber roof) that also made 220hp? If they did that I would be trading in my car right now.

Like I said, I'm sure the tS is a special car, I just wish Subaru went the extra mile to distinguish the car from a BRZ with PP.
Exactly. But you know, it is Subaru and they will never focus too much on a jointly developed car. The best you can have with these cars is to get a bare-bones and start modifying it yourself.

Well for the .002% of the owners that care about lap times that is great. The car isn't available anyplace but Japan anyway so I is a meaningless number for most here.

I don't think that only a fraction of .002% are interested on lap times and besides such cars can be fast even outside tracks. Bare-bones cars or basic trims are available in all the countries. You won't find the big weight difference, but they are a starting point and you save money to install some real performance parts.

The only thing I like in the tS car is the dry-carbon rear wing, but again it doesn't make sense. You would install this wing in a light track focused car. Not in a car that is heavier. So, from my point of view it is just for show off ... "My car has a dry-carbon wing! Do you know how much it costs?? ..."

I noticed on the review video, that the flex V-bars on the US tS are black vs the silver of the JDM model. I'd be super interested in getting the black ones. Hopefully they will be open to the public soon.

I'm interested in lap times. However, I'm also interested in all the comfort features the tS has from the Limited. I just moved into a place in downtown LA, and only have room for one car. So in addition to needing a car for track days and canyon runs, it also needs to serve as a long distance commuter and be great for road trips for two people. If given the choice between the stripped down model available in Japan, or the fully optioned tS we're getting in the US, the still-lightweight tS is my weapon of choice. A heavy 86-twin is still a light car.

Also I'll be adding news articles and videos. Eventually those will be transferred to the future owner's registry if I'm able to start it first, nbd though haha.

ALSO as of now I can only track 405 VON's for the tS. Either one Subaru region hasn't gotten their distribution yet, or Canada's 100 units were being considered in the 500-unit count. Reserved and Sold Order vehicles aren't counted, but really does anyone really think 95 people have already reserved a tS?
Are there still only 405 VONs in the system?

No, in fact there are only about 390, which means people have been reserving them.

Great news by the way!

VINs are now available for a few cars headed to Florida and Texas. ETA's for these cars with VINs have changed to 02-2018.

These cars will be arriving well before the April estimate I believe.

Edit: These cars have ETAs of around Feb 27 - Mar 03

So this is something that really bothers me;
BRZ:

Vs 86:

The G-force screen is in both cars, but on the BRZ, won't function if the vehicle is moving. However, it's fully functional on the 86. I've driven an 86 with it, and it was a cool thing to have. I wish they just left it off the BRZ entirely if they weren't going to allow it to work.
