Yeah those far kinda diets aren't really a good thing. Usually really bad. A balanced diet is definitely the way to go. Even Atkins conceded you need some carbs. I'm happy to help with everything in my power so if you have any questions in the future I can at least point you in the right direction

I have found, that it's sometimes ...... how you say it ....... not so much what you say ..... except with SO/GF/wives ..... then it makes no difference ......

Aw, no way, man. That's just too extreme. Not everyone/everything.

Dismissive people do make me sick.

Oh nice. It's a shorter trip to get here and the roads are more interesting. Just saying.

Scientific 7-minute workout has almost tripled the pushups I can do in 30 seconds. Started a month ago. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/projects/workouts/
I also gained 10lbs once I started exercising, but at least some of it is muscle. 40lbs off for weight loss. 10 added. Still 30 ahead. Once the holidays are over, loss will be easier. Still aiming for 180.

OK lll concede that. It just"seems" like everyone close to me dismisses all my advice. My mom, sister, and gf are the worst about it. My brother dismisses all advice of all kinds and my adopted brother actually listens. Health and cars are the usual subjects. I work on cars a lot and I'm a certified physical trainer so I feel my advice should be at least considered when advising on cars and health. If everyone thought my ideas on home improvement we crap, that'd be fine, cuz I don't know squat about fixing houses. Just really frustrating when your mom has 4 fuse vertebrae in her spine, is 150lbs over weight, tore her rotator cuff (too much strain put on it after second back surgery) and didn't think losing weight or exercise is worth her time despite her injuries and being legally disabled. Thanks for listening boys. You're a good man Ultra.

In related news! Our plans to move to Omaha just got fucked all to shit. Without going into public detail... She had a job offer for about $70,000(Midwest money, so probably about $100k for you coastal city folk) a year for 3 hours of work a day... Employer died. No idea what the plan is now

Oh, now THAT I understand. There's not a damn thing you can do about convincing others to change fundamentally. I bet your mom hears everything you have to say but refuses to admit it because she knows what a struggle it would be. Hell, I don't know how I'll do long term but I choose to be honest about it.
