the fiesta has a dual clutch box, it's entirely possible in lower end offerings.

And that DCT transmission is giving Ford headaches to no ends!

Only because it was rushed to market. Within a year or two the design will be modified and the software will be tuned to deliver a smoother experience (and once smoothness goes up, reliability will too)

As for that interior....looks like it's cobbled together from existing or hastily modified parts. Huge panel gaps and no stylistic theme. That's fine though, it means they're still developing the interior, which is good - they want to make it look purdy.

It's pretty neat but sometimes if you roll the window down turn the car off and open the door in a certain order it gets outsmarted. Just have to turn the key again though.

I still hate the little triangle glass above the mirror... don't see why the window is not 1 piece of glass.
I'd be willing to bet money that it's done that way for two specific reasons:

One, it means the main window glass is smaller and lighter, which means smaller and lighter motors to roll them up and down, and two, it helps control turbulence within the cabin while the windows are down.

I like the placement of the E-brake handle as opposed to the type you see in ichitaka's wrx pic.

I suppose... But I can't imagine the weight of the extra frame piece is any less than a slightly larger motor (if that would even be required) to raise a heavier piece of glass.

But if it's both of those, why not just replace that piece with plastic and mount the mirror there, like other sports cars?

It was changed in the FR-S version... wish they would incorporate that tweak in the production model.

I just hope they don't stick the cup holders in the center console in the same way they did in the last Celica. Anything taller than a small coffee mug meant that you were knocking your drink whenever you wanted to shift.

True. I would like pop-up cupholder somewhere besides that area.

Good news:
Toggle switches. Love 'em.
Barndoor mirrors. More visibility is always good.
Cupholders in transmission tunnel. Best place for least spillage and no pop outs to break.

Bad news:
Frameless windows. They never seal as well as a frame.
Shifter looks short.
Power window switches are in the wrong location (door).

All in all, still looking good.

Eh... Never thought of that, but I think it's an interesting idea.

Edit: Short shift knob FTW.

If those 4 toggle switches are anything like the GT-R's 3 toggle switches, they should control the transmission/ECU settings (for automatic models only obviously), suspension modes and VSC settings, although that doesn't explain what the extra toggle switch does. Can anyone guess what it is?
