Motul Gear oil swap? Anyone interested?

Think I found my weekend project. I guess there is an open invite if anyone else wants to do the same, got plenty of space and no HOA. (I hate HOA's).

I'd be interested in doing a transmission oil swap this weekend. I'll have to get 3L from goodspeed this week (I'll give them a call to make sure they've got it in stock).

Out of curiosity, those of you who have switched to another transmission gear fluid (Redline or otherwise) I swore I remembered @Yruyur saying the first thing the dealer checks is to ensure it's stock fluid type.

I am all for changing it but that's one warranty I do not want to void, same with the diff I believe its better fluid but I would rather run what the dealer wants if they are going to be picky.
Can @jeffsides or anyone else comment on this? My Scion dealer has been very accepting of my modifications but I do want to keep the warranties on those parts valid.

Thanks

@Yruyur is correct. If you were to ever have an issue you must flush and fill with oem fluid.

Gear Oil Swap This weekend RSVP

Ok, they have about 12 liters available at Goodspeed, I am going to try to pick up 4 liters tonight, if not tomorrow night. (Thinking of doing my rear diff too.)

PM me and I'll give you my address and phone number, anytime Saturday (or Sunday is even better).

I have 2 jacks and at least one set of stands.

Thanks,

Mark

Transmission oil must be 75W-90 and GL4. Motul 300 Gear (iirc that's the right name) is GL4/5 75W-90 gear oil.

If you end up with any major transmission issue there is a chance corporate will ask for an oil sample. So a flush would need to be done. The tech I use said use whatever as long as the specification is the same. I went with the same stuff brent uses.
