What does that code stand for? Not the usual CAM related codes.

SoA customer service misspoke, ECU actually threw P0017. So, first issue was P0019, now P0017.

I have an '812 ECU and a new HPFP going in today or tomorrow.

FSE was much better this time about being clear that this is a process, not a silver billet. Happy SoA no longer seem to be misrepresenting their ability to resolve this...

Picked up today. Dealership replaced the Engine Control Module and a basic 7500 mile service. Car is worse than ever. I have an AT, in "manual mode" car will not rev above 2300 RPM. Steering is absolutely terrible. Almost feels like there is no power steering fluid.

Dropped off just now. This will make trip number two.

UPDATE:

Just went with Tech on test drive. He said something about new computer may be iffy for awhile to "relearn," also could be gearing issue.

Steering probably due to them over inflating (50 psi) when they put nitrogen in my tires.

I wonder if they flashed the wrong cal into it. They are supposed to drive it after repair, FAIL...

So more to add. Dealer replaced ECU, left the dealer with unresponsive, sluggish steering, and a lot of acceleration hesitation. In "manual mode" sixth gear would absolutely no go above 2300 RPM and had ZERO acceleration.

Drive right back and took service tech on a ride. He experienced the same but said the sixth gear inability to accelerate was normal (WTF). Steering was due to dealership over inflating tires.

So after bleeding some air from the tires off I went. Noticed the rough idle issue was gone. Ten minutes later, CEL and slip light on again. Drove directly back.

Brand new ECU didn't fix issue for me. I did contact SOA and a case manager should be contacting me tomorrow. Not a happy camper.

UPDATE:

Service manager just called. After ECU replacement car showed code P0011. Toyota Service HQ (or whomever dealerships contact for service questions) advised new sensors should be installed. Estimated 5-7 days for parts to arrive and install.

Also, SOA case manager failed to contact me as promised.

As a note to others going through this I'm keeping detailed notes (who talked to me, when they called, ect) including requesting the diagnostic print outs. I can't help it, it's the cop in me. It helps a lot when dealing with people giving you the run around.

Hopefully, I'll update in about a week with good news.

I think some of these cars are never going to run %100 even with an ECU replacement alone.

Seems like the technician had some fun with the car...put 30 miles on it.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he just wanted to make sure that the cel didn't light up as soon as the car left the dealer as happened to others on here.

That's not good to hear. I wonder what their next step is.

Got my second call from the dealership, the ECU will need to be reflashed by a travelling toyota specialist. They may just replace the ECU under recall if they cannot schedule a specialist fast enough.

They gave me an IQ as a loaner... But called me today to say they are having a recall on all IQ's and I need to bring it in ASAP to swap it out.

Good day!

Looks like I am getting a new ECU.

I swapped my IQ for a 2005 Corolla, sweet!
