You have to reset the value to what you want...I think by default the FFS set point is right at the rev limiter (delta=0). In RomRaider open that value and reset it for about 600 or so...remember that it is a delta value, meaning the actual set point will be the rev limit (7600) minus your delta value. So, an input of delta=600 will give you a FFS set point of 7000 rpm

@Shiv@Openflash I have flashed the 1.5x tune stage one on my FRS, and especially in 3rd gear, when I hit ~4k RPM there is a loud noise almost like a vibration somewhere but I see nothing that is vibrating. Please help! I am flashing it back to stock until I hear from you. Definitely a bad sound...

Any chance you're hearing the VVT kicking in?

I had a 2001 Celica GTS and its VVT-Li was loud but this was much louder almost sounded like a knock. The sound would go away after ~4.5k so it wasn't loud for long, but it scared me. lol

+1

I don't typically use FFS myself. But when I do, I set the value to 1000rpm. This means that whenever the clutch is pressed the fuel is cut until revs fall below 7600 (rev limit) - 1000 or 6600rpm. This means that you need to shift well above 6600rpm for this to work properly. Which make sense since you are looking for max acceleration when using FFS. So shift around 7500rpm and you will be happy with the result.

If you set the FFS RPM value to big, it may start to interfere with normal driving because all it takes is a little pressure on the clutch to enable the switch.

Cheers
shiv

That's intake resonance, and has been discussed at great length in other threads. It's not damaging anything, and is fine.

Oh! ok is it specific to this tune or just an all around thing? Will switching to the beta tune fix it? Also I am on the stock air box. If you know off the top of your head what thread would be awesome to check I would appreciate it!!

This seems common if you have the sound tube, but I don't. Any other thoughts?

It took me two seconds to find it by searching this section for intake noise...

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...t=intake+noise

There's nothing to fix, so the beta tune won't "fix" anything. The noise is just resonance in the intake tract, and isn't anything bad. The stock tune makes the same noise, just not as pronounced.

I wish there was a way to compare the older roms to the new one with different .xml in romraider. I've spent many many hours tweaking some of the tables with the old xml. Wish I could just copy and paste in the new v2.01b.

So far so good. I hate the dead pedal feel for a while.
