My kit is going on almost 2 weeks now, and I have to say I love it. I appreciate all the good feedback from my little review. I really believe this ESC is just a great purchase. But a unique car has come up that I may not be able to resist. I will be traveling to Dallas this weekend to drive it. If I choose to purchase this new track toy, then I will be getting rid of my BRZ. The ESC kit will not be going with the car, if I decide to sell it. Soooo, I may have a very slightly used ESC kit with PC680 batteries for sale. If you or anyone you know is waiting for an ESC kit and is okay with having a slightly used one, please let them know that I may have one. I will get online Saturday and post how the test drive went. Its not for sale yet, but very well could be. I just wanted to mention it here before I go onto a proper thread post it up...if that happens. Yes the kit is working 100%, and is damn fun.

Just curious what's the car?

I will keep everyone in the loop. I have had several PMs already. I didnt mean to get so many people excited.

Anyways. The car i am looking at is boxster RUF 3800 s. Which is essentially a 987 boxster with a 911 engine in it, tuned up to 425hp. The wife autocrosses a cayman now and I autocross the BRZ. But i figured i would sell the BRZ after next season and get my own cayman. But this 3.8 conversion is almost my ideal car. In theory at least. So i have to go drive it and see if its the one. My first ax season i drove a miata. Last season was thr BRZ. A cayman or vette was going to next. But this boxster could be the best of both worlds and the price is affordable in the upper 20's.

I still havent found all thr potential in my BRZ. But i have a real thing for mid engine cars.

Bad ass. A dream car is a dream car. I hope it works out for you. Strangely I'll be in Dallas this Sunday. Let me know if you get it.

So the kit is sold. I had an offer I couldn't refuse. It was a very good price. So that would assume I bought the new Porsche. Nope, I was so sure I was going to. Then I got such a good offer on the kit, I didn't hesitate...and I sold the kit.

Well I made out on the kit. But, unfortunately the car didn't turn out to be the right one. It was fun to drive, but my search will continue. I am going to up my budget a little bit and keep on looking.

But, I still say the kit it is a great way to add easy, fun to these cars. I hope everyone here on the waiting list gets theirs as quick as possible. Enjoy it.
After having two BRZs, its time for me to move on and graduate to a different car on the track. But I will still stop in from time to time.

Hey guys, have a couple of questions. Sorry if they've been asked but I don't really want to read through ten pages of posts.

1) First of all, I realize that this isn't intended to compete with a "true" FI application. However, given the relative ease of install, I'm interested. Now, I've done a bit of a peruse on their website, but I'm not totally convinced of the numbers being put down. Does anyone have their own dyno sheets?

2) Any guys using the OFT for tunes? oops, upon reading first post more closely, I have my answer

3) If you could go back in time, knowing what you know now after owning this SC kit, would you buy again, or would you go with a full blown SC or turbo kit?

4) I'm still kind of skeptical, but this seems like it may be the best option for me personally. I use my car as a daily, don't have too many plans to track or go fast. Just looking for that bit of extra "ooomph". Will this kit give me that?

1. Yes, others have dyno'd...numbers are on first page. Numbers are real.
2. Pretty much all of us are on OFT tunes
3. No. You'll probably be pretty well informed by the time you dive into the purchase, and know the pros/cons of this kit.
4. This is exactly what this kit is made for. It does it, and it does it well.

Cheers, this seems to simplify the decision of this kit vs the C30 from Kraftwerks. Time to do some more homework!

1 and 2, I think are closely related, Shiv has his own dyno numbers for the tunes he has put out on the OFT. There are dynos for the earler versions of the kits, before the newer kits and OFT tunes, check the phantom owners page for a decent list of who has one and if they have any performance numbers.

3) yes, I only wish I was farther down the waiting list so I could have gotten the newest version upgrades without having to pay extra for them. I still miss the feeling of having more power at mid throttle, and even the new updates won't change that. Maybe if the throttle table was edited to be more linear, it wouldn't feel so dead in the middle. Either way from the reliability and price standpoint, I am glad I chose this vs a turbo kit(what I was originally looking for) and it's accompanying mods. My trip up the old 2 lane highways with this kit made passing before the next curve much less dramatic. And for daily driving I sometimes forget It is even installed until I need it. There is very little to break, and no failure of the system that I know of will endanger the motor.

4) Short answer, yes. But again that is just my opinion. I have yet to have anyone line up with me in this car, or make me really test it. See if someone is local to you and ask for a ride, everyone who has one seems more then willing to show it off

Well, after doing some more reading, this seems to fit the bill quite nicely for what I'd be using it for. Thinking within the next couple of weeks, this will be getting purchased!

oh dear. I'm sorry if we have mislead you, but there is a substantial waiting list. As this is still basically a product in development, it is not being mass produced. If you are interested in the tech and are fine with a minimum wait of maybe 7 months, then all you have to do is PM Robftss asking to be added to the waiting list, or try to find one on the used market. I got a PM earlier willing to pay $2000 used, I suspect brzaapi sold his kit to this person. I was sorely tempted, but hadn't decided If I wanted to get back on the list and go another year without it.

Anyway, if time is a factor, you may want to look at other options.

I'm aware of the waiting list. Time is not a big factor. I get to drive my car two days a month from March to November. The less time it's being worked on in that time period, the better.
