FYI - even though the JDM version is not DOT approved, I can confirm that they pass the New York State safety inspection without issue. I was worried I would have to swap back to stocks for my annual inspection but decided to give it a shot anyway - no problem.

Me neither, but I was afraid they'd see no DOT markings and decide to fail it. Apparently they don't care about that so long as it meets the described functional requirements.
