I think they tried to follow a RWD sports coupe version of a Evo but with almost 100 less hp. It's still a great deal considering a Evo costs 35k and a 2.0t R-Spec costs 24.5k. I'm not into modding so I would go with the 3.8 all day everyday.

That's great and all, but most people don't want to void a 100,000 mile warranty right after buying a car. So that eliminates any sort of tuning to the 2.0T unless Hyundai is going to honor the warranty on modified vehicles
