Toyota rep at Frankfurt IAA said FT-86 weight will be 1,160kg (2,555 pounds)

i just registered today at this forum to provide some information i got from the IAA today...

i talked to someone from toyota, the told me the stuff we all already know, but one fact really made me happy.

Asking for weight, the said it will weigh in at about 1,160kg which sounds really awesome to me. also told me that it will be finally introduced at tokyo motor show in november and available in germany in late summer 2012.

sorry if my english is a little bit bad.

And a simple conversion would be 2555 lb. Wow, if this is true, that would surprise me a lot.

Welcome new comer!

Throwing out new info without any proof or a source is not the best way to finish an introduction post.

At least you are telling us what we want to hear X). <1200kg would be wonderful!

It is true, 1160kg definitely converts to ~2555lbs (2557 to be more exact). As for it being the car's true weight, i hope he's right

I was talking more about the source of the info rather than the conversion between metric and imperial. :P

That is 50 lbs heavier than a NC Miata. What class are you talking about? Compact and 2+2?

Yup compact 2+2 coupe. The Miata only seats 2.

Excellent weight!

I hope it is kept at 200hp.

That way, NON- car enthusiasts won't know the TRUE potential of this car...and will not be so common. They will lean towards Mustang, or 350z/370z.

I noticed that the next generation of cars will be minimum 220hp like the new fiesta ST, Focus ST, GTI mk7.
