Shipping companies treat packages pretty poorly. We are fixing this issue moving forward and have offered to resolve the issue to anyone who does not wish to fix it themselves.

Something is going on with the fitment on his vehicle and I'm not sure what it is yet but I'm sure we can work through it. It fits fine with a stock exhaust, I have this on my car and it has an 1/8" of clearance as shown in multiple photos now. I don't know what else to say at this point; the parts fit on my car and that was the test fit car.

Having dealt with a lot of aftermarket companies that involve exhaust components... almost every single part that is supposed to matte up to the oem exhaust mattes up... within a margin of error. Ive seen countless times where an over-pipe is off by just a few degree's and nothing else lines up afterwords without a lot of force. People make parts to fit with the stock part but don't verify the exact location that the OEM part lands in after parts "flex". This is super super common on axle backs and op/fp. This obviously fix oem fitment exhaust as eric6 has it on his car... Swapping the axle back is likely the issue and probably just needs to be adjusted so that the mid pipe is lifted back up to the OEM location.

Nope. Nothing needs to be done. These don't touch the diffuser at all.

What's wrong with the fitment? One person has an issue, the rest are fine. I've had a driveway labs diffuser as well. His stuff is cool, but this is build a hell of a lot better than the driveway labs. It is mega sturdy compared and mounts a lot better too.

If they fix this shipping issue (an actual packing change not just "shippers are brutal") then I'd go with this one over the driveway labs version. Every time.

Oh, it will be fixed! I hope I'm not down playing my disappointment, I'm very upset at this. It is partially our fault for underestimating the packaging there and partially the way shipping companies handle packages. We will be beefing up the strake's packaging as well as potentially adding a "This side up" sticker to keep the strakes pointed up instead of down. Potentially a new, slightly larger, box as well.

Both FT-86 and Velox are working on this and anything shipping from here on out will have better packaging around the strakes.

I don't doubt you are. I do similar work and when you mess stuff up for a customer, it's really hard to express that via text.

This thing is very well built compared to other ones. And it has a really good mounting system too. If I had to do it over, I'd still go with this one. Oh and it looks cool too.

New packaging is being formulated this week. We thought existing would work just fine but it appears not. We are re-thinking it and will make a change. The price in the product will also probably change a few bux to cover the additional packaging but will be no way for them to get hurt now.

We shipped over 25 of these day 1. We have 3 with shipping damage. That's not all that bad, and we are 100% as usual taking care of our clients.

Just want to say hats off to both Velox and FT86 Speed Factory.

My diffuser came in with bent strakes as well and I emailed FT86 Speed Factory right away just to let them know and I told them I would try to fix it and they offered to send a replacement right away if I wasn't happy. That is customer service. We all ordered these early at a discount knowing we were taking a small risk that all the bugs were not worked out, which turned out to be the case. As long as they stand behind the product, which they clearly all, then all is good in my book.

Mine is arriving today and my fingers are crossed that it will show up in perfect condition, but if it doesn't...

Based on my previous interactions with you, I have no doubts that you will handle it professionally. You guys are absolutely top notch for an aftermarket parts company / reseller.

I went out and took a different angled photo of a completely stock exhaust system with the diffuser. I have not had any rubbing issues nor any rubbing noises.

@NotEric6 Well, my wife informed me that the box arrived completely destroyed. She intercepted the driver before he could leave and rejected the package. So it's going back to FT86 unopened, through UPS's formal rejection process based on obvious external damage.

Guess I won't have it on the car by this weekend like I hoped.

Sorry to hear that. Pretty amazed at what the shipping companies are capable of at times. Please make sure FT-86 SpeedFactory is kept in the loop as well. I'm sure UPS has notified them in some way though but it never hurts.

The good news is that you'll be getting the revised packaging FT-86 SpeedFactory is coming up with and you can update this thread with your experience when it comes in.

Yes, I pm'd and emailed FT-86 Speed Factory. I'm guessing the revised packaging isn't ready. I'd pay extra for shipping if it could get here by Friday.

She didn't take any pictures, but said that the package was completely collapsed, warped on both ends, all 4 corners of the box were bashed in, and the tape was coming off on both sides. Traveling to the west coast must be rough.

What are people saying about the diffuser so far? Here's a small sample of what we've been told through PM, messaging, and email. We had a rocky product launch due to shipping issues but this was a shipping issue completely, not a product issue. FT86 SpeedFactory has resolved the shipping issue for future orders and has taken care of everyone who received a damaged unit. That is what one would call customer service and satisfaction.

Here's a photo of the diffuser on Ryan's rocket bunny.
