I stopped reading your wall of text as soon I hit this bullshit part.

If they are losing money on the deal, they don't have to sell it. And I clearly said I pay no more than a few hundred OVER invoice...which in itself is several hundreds dollars profit not including the dealer holdback which is many hundreds more.

I also don't haggle, I simply make phone calls to dealerships until one accepts my price. Then I go meet the dealer for the first time and sign the paperwork. No butts hurt because they didn't have to accept.

Read your reply above: a "tool" is the fool who pays MSRP without trying for a better deal. I have zero use for a salesman who knows 1/5th about the product he's selling than I do. Car salesmen are useless IMO, their only purpose is filling out the paperwork(for which they charge an additional cost as well).

So anyone who haggles is a tool? That's absurd. You're a retailers wet dream come true.

But you have to test drive somewhere. You have to go to a dealer first to test drive a new car.

LOL great stuff. Advice: move to the US for the great prices. Then go into stasis at your local cryo-freeze facility for 5 months....

Or backpack the Amazon for that amount of time; once you reach the tend I'm sure the car will be out and it'll be priced just right.

Seriously, I think the wait is getting to quite a few members.

i highly doubt any dealership would advertise the fr-s/brz at BELOW msrp, that would be stupid for a brand new car, at least for the first few months.

i could be completely wrong and your local dealership offers to you 1k below MSRP because they are high or something...

Waiting only 18 months? Ha, that's nothing. Some of the member have been waiting for 2~3yrs.

If you wanna waste the money, go buy some FR now and when FRS comes out trade it in. I know some members are doing this

I've worked at a few dealerships and its common that the only way a person will tale the car is to push it 1k BELOW invoice then come back the next day and say the price wasn't low enough, at that point we wipe our smiles and tell the person to fuck off cause we know you could pay 200+ dollars more a month on the car because of your ridiculous credit ratings, and give below the lowest interest rates that we could give or possibly give we already save people 3-6k on the back end because of the low interest rates that we shouldn't even be giving then you want 5k off msrp, so we save you 6-9k on the car and your still unhappy? even though we LOST 1k on the car...

at these standards, my dealership kindly tells people to fuck off and we escort them out the door... if you cant afford a new car then dont buy one...

when you pay a couple hundred over invoice the guy who spent 4 hours haggling you and stressing out just made somewhere between 50-200 dollars and possibly getting fired because you like to butt rape dealerships... thats my 2cents, I've always paid a car off in cash or financed the minimum of 5k and didn't haggle

there was a guy today who wouldn't buy the car because it was 5 dollars off from what he wanted, i drove to mcdonalds bought 2 big macs came back and told him here's what you aren't willing to pay, and the guy said well i know yall can go lower, and i told him well if we went any lower the dealership would be giving you a blowjob all of my finance managers stood up and circled him and said "GET THE FUCK OUT"

other customers just kinda laughed at the guy as he walked out the door because he was such a cheapskate

he came back 2 hours later and paid 90 bucks more a month than what we gave him
Yeah. OK.

Eagerly awaiting pricing and learning about how Scion is expected to handle the purchasing process. I, too, abhor haggling and generally will make a take-it-or-leave-it offer on a car I find after doing my own research.

Anyone that thinks I can't afford the car I'm considering is way off the mark; if I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't make the offer and I sure as hell wouldn't let a skidmark in a $30 suit talk me into paying more than my offer for a car I want to buy. I fully appreciate that a salesman is in the business to make money and I'm looking to spend as little as possible - how we reach the deal is entirely up to the salesman.

I watch the numbers and I know what I'm willing to pay. Salesman gets one pass through the 'four square' BS and one trip to "The Boss." If we can't agree after that, well... I buy from someone else.

Since I got my license, I've bought at least one new-to-me vehicle each year.

Well Doric, that makes you a tool for having the audacity to NOT pay MSRP(according to carbonBLUE) . How does it feel being a tool?

Feels good doesn't it? Heheheh. carbonBLUE has to be a salesmen to have made such an idiotic post on the previous page. I still can't believe he said that.
