As far as the holes above the rear struts in the trunk, I have driven through some hard rainstorms and I've not had any water intrusion or mildew in the trunk.

Me too; I think the most important thing here is to make sure the rubber grommets are in place underneath.

It should be fine with just that.

I do not know what size they are. They are a tad small too small and don't fit completely snug.

All I know is that my rear window would completely fog up to the point of where I had to kick on the rear defrost multiple times. It has been bounds better since plugging the holes.

In my opinion you get more water in the car with you shoes each time you get it and out in rainy weather and all that get absorbed in the mats and released in the cabin, it's more of a problem than 2 tiny holes. And the ventilation system does a great job at spreading that toward the rear.

Also If people are scared with rust in these areas, why cover it up? You want to make sure the humidity stay there and water can't evaporate? I'd just shoot a bit of rust prohibitor in there and call it a day.

Lol, ok.

I park in my garage. The rear window would fog up after pulling out and cruising a few miles. Shoes would be dry because they never touched a wet surface. *shrug* Seems to be fine now but since you know more about me and what I do on a day to day basis then... *shrug*

My car will never touch road salt so I am not worried about my car rusting. Just making an observation and covering the holes won't prevent rust.

This thread made me go out and check my under my car if they installed the grommets. They did. Not to mention its 1:48 am here. Haha! I know for a fact that the holes in the trunk have no plugs cause I installed coilovers already. I actually welcomed it thinking they might have thought of people installing coilovers.

My BRZ also did not have the plugs near the rear wheels(or in the glove box). I work in parts and have easy access so I ordered the Toyota part number in this post. Just got them in today and will put them in soon. Hopefully it will help with the odd smells I get in the the cabin. If not maybe I will try plugging the noise generator. I haven't checked my rear struts yet but probably will soon.

Not sure if you can see it in the picture but they are stamped Subaru and have what looks to be the Subie part number on them. 90371CA010

Picked mine up last saturday. I didn't have them either over the strut or on the underside. Dealership found a set in a salesman's desk. Oops. Gonna go put them in. Dealer ordered me the top ones for the struts

Excuse me for being a noob, but how do you put things back together? I'm trying to push these little things back in place, and all I'm getting are sore fingers.

What should I do? Tap with a hammer/screwdriver?

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. And after that it was a 30-second job. *Hangs head in shame* I do wonder why a flathead screwdriver isn't included for this exact purpose, while there is a philips-head one in the trunk.

And my car doesn't have the round seals on the rear strut towers (only checked the left side, but there's no reason why the right side should be different), but does have the oval grommets on the underside (both sides).

That Phillips head is also a flat head on the other side
