@TylerLieberman
Yeah, I thought 265's would be too much. Maybe I'll get 255's with a little less offset? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

At least now you know that you have a way to get what you're looking for. Coilovers to lower the car; just not too much. Front LCAs to widen your front track and fill up the Todoroki fenders, without affecting wheel offset. You could realistically just buy some 18x9.5 +38 wheels with 255s or 265s and call it a day at that point. No need for spacers or anything like that. Just need the coilovers and arms to adjust the alignment, accordingly.

Awesome man. Really glad I talked to someone. Thanks again for going through it with a noob. Sounds great. What brand tyre did you get? So I can check how many inches wide your 265's were and do a little maths to make sure my tyre doesn't stick out of the guard at all, or else I'll be screwed. So relieved that I can still get these fenders!

I am planning on getting 18x10 +38 Meisters with O disk in the front. Was wondering what spacers I would need to get similar fitment. I am planning on running a 265/35/18 tire. My other concern is that I want to be able to fit STi brembos in the future, but do not want to go with the A/R/T disks options. I figure with the amount of spacers I would have, it would be enough to clear the brakes? |

Keep in mind I also rubbed a little bit under compression when going around corners at higher speeds.

Hey man, how's your car doing? You mentioned that going for a 255 over a 265 tyre won't affect the flush because the rim is still 9.5, are you sure it wouldn't make a difference at all? I was thinking of finding the exact inches/cm's width for the 265's vs 255's for the Dunlop's so I can make sure it's as flush as possible on paper.
Also, you said yours poke out a bit, but the front looks pretty perfect, did you mean the bottom pokes out because of the camber? Lastly, I reread the laws and it says new rims can only be 1" wider than the biggest stock of that model, which is 7" I'm pretty sure. Pretty ridiculous seeing as there's no harm with wider rims. Also who checks that anyway, and would getting 8" wide ruin the flush as my LCAs will make it potentially +11 offset in the front? Thanks again for all the help. It's so hard to wait for this car hahaha. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Last edited by nima314; 06-08-2016 at 11:41 AM. |

In regards to tires, yes. The WHEEL is what is the determining factor in how flush it sits to the body, specifically the offset. While the tire can have a role in the clearance, or the overall look of the setup, the wheel and alignment spec are what is going to have the final say. Take a look at this: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...culate#content I put in 18x9.5 +40 for the wheel size on both. The tire size is 265/35 on one, and 255/35 on the other. Notice that the wheel itself doesn't change, because the WHEEL specs didn't change. Because of the tire size changing, it minimally altered the overall diameter and the clearance, but that's it. Here's another one, but the tire sizes are 265/35 and 225/40: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...culate#content Again, wheel remains in the same spot, but the tire fitment onto the wheel itself has changed quite a bit. The stretching of the sidewall would allow for less camber, due to the added clearance, compared to a squared tire (265/35), but the wheel itself still hasn't changed in how it "fits". Quote:

As you can see, your setup would 14.1mm away from having the same fitment that mine did. I think it was said earlier that spacers aren't really an option, but I don't know. It also depends with what offset the wheels are before you even adjust the LCA. On another note, if you could squeeze a 9j wheel, a +11 would be 1.3mm away from what mine was. I mean, I've seen a load of people in AUS using 9.5 and 10j wheels on their cars. Quote:

Hopefully my final questions are, how were the fenders? Did you feel like they were worth it? Did it make a big difference and you fell in love, or was it more of a meh moment? Also, does the extension allow for body kits or just splitters to be installed? Even if it supports a body kit, I guess it might look weird all together because of how the extension looks. Let's say I don't get the fenders. Strictly legal speaking I could use LCAs in front and rear to get perfect fitment on 8" wheels, and because they're 8" and I'm widening track width, would that mean less camber, or/and no fender rubbing? Once again, thank you so much and I really appreciate all the help. What're you driving now by the way? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

In regards to the track width, I can't answer that. It all comes down to how much the track width is increased. When you increase track width, you're going to increase negative camber. To counter that, you'll have to adjust the camber plates to balance it out. By doing that, you'll find what works best to get the desired results. And I'm driving a '16 STI now. Have had it for almost a year now.

However, I reread the laws and the track width is a maximum of 25mm, thus a 12.5mm offset each way, which probably means no widening with LCAs. Awesome, hope you're enjoying the STi. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Last edited by nima314; 06-11-2016 at 01:18 AM. |
