I considered it. But, the car won't be fully prepped this year, so I decided against it.

I'm thinking that, aside from some activist-types, Street-R classes (except for SSR) will be very thin this year. Hard to make the case for buying a fresh set of hoosiers in a size that isn't very easy to unload to others that will be allowed to stay on r-comps.

If I had a set of A6s available, or cheap, I'd consider it. I have a brand new set of Z2s waiting to go on so CS makes more sense.

Well, that wasn't the worst weekend I've had.

Congratulations!
(I once worked in the US and also went autocrossing at Devens and iceracing at Newfound Lake in NH, which was lots of fun).

I noticed that many people have a Tire Rack sticker on their windshield, is this primarily because it looks good or because this is somehow sponsored also?

It is generally because they are the title sponsor of the event.

Same reason all cars in the Pirelli World Challenge have Pirelli stickers on the windshield.

Not necessarily for sure because of that, but most likely.

This is the 20th year The Tire Rack is the title sponsor for the SCCA National Autocross programs. So if you race in a National Tour, Match Tour, or a Pro Solo, you are required to have the banner to race in the event.

Ok, thanks. We are also required to put on stickers (one sticker on each side) but each event has a different sponsor (so we just slap them on for one day).

How do C-Street on R-compound tires compare to the STX-cars timewise?

Which class is typically faster or are they about the same? (Do the mods allowed in STX make up for the tire disadvantage?)

They are compareable. On fresh hoosiers, the CSR car would win.

Pax indicates CSR is a little bit faster (.834 vs .827). The top STX driver pax'ed 114 of 1157 which is fair enough. No one drove in CSR but the consensus is that the pax is pretty soft - or maybe that's just relative to CS.

In my own experience, my pax time in CSR was pretty comparable to a fully prepped RX8 with a good (as in better than me) driver at most local events.

I thought the Hoosiers required major amounts of camber to be effective. That might hold the CSR cars back a bit.

But if you all want to send me a fresh set of Hoosiers, I'll test it out and let you know.
