So to those of you with bogging issues, what gas are you using? Did you experience any of the known issues prior to intake install? For say idle dip, chirping noises etc?
And for the ones with out any issues, same questions. Just curious My intake won't be here till Tuesday, I have not had any of idle, hard start, or chirping issues. I will also provide video feed back with before and after results. After seeing John mention a Car with a different intake having the same issues with n without a tune maybe we should starts thread inquiring about who is experiencing these symptoms with any after market intake. this problem based on what john mentioned seems to go beyond just this setup? |

Alright Im back. Ive had this intake on my car quite possibly for more miles than anyone at this point - and never had any problems with it. At one point during development I thought I had lost some gas pedal feedback or gas pedal sensitivity. However, the intake was removed from the car and I drove it a couple hundred more miles back in stock config and the pedal feel/acceleration feel was unchanged.
Im assuming for me it was all in my head, once I put back on the intake at a later date it was all the same. Im sure that my throttle pedal has always been a bit 'laggy' since the day I bought the car and I just try not to think about it, I typically double tap the gas pedal when starting from a stop just to smooth the response out, I think its tied into the accidental gas pedal press safety nanny installed in this car. I love the production intake though, better finish than the prototypes for obvious reasons, and a bit better sound too. I think if you are honestly having problems with the intake on your car, remove it see if the car returns to normal. Im just glad when I found this thread that you guys are jumping all over AIRAID, as their product and service is top-notch among the industry. If a legitimate problem can be identified as being the fault of the intake specifically, Im sure they will help to resolve your issues because they are pretty kick-ass like that. |

Mattles said exactly what I'm experiencing, and that's lack of gas pedal feedback. Like I said before, I think it's normal as my old intake also did this. It's the compromise of adding an aftermarket intake. I really like this intake and the customer service from AJUSA was awesome. |

Ive also had the intake on before release and again this week. I saw the posts about this issue, and have tried myself to duplicate it, and have not been able to.
I am still wondering what people are talking about when they refer to throttle latency when they hit the pedal. I had that with my tC (the drive by wire lag), but haven't had it even noticeable with my FR-S.... |

To update people who asked questions:
* Prior to the intake I have never had any idle dip or hard start issues, 2000 miles. * I have had the chirp the entire time. * The intake hasn't changed any of that. It does take a little longer to settle on an idle (falls slower from 1000 down to 650-700) but nothing to be worried about. * I have a dry filter. No, I didn't install it wrong. It's not a hard intake to install -_- And drive-ability shouldn't be a compromise of having an intake. That defeats the purpose. |

I think the intake just made it more noticeable. As I'm sure it will be with every intake that comes without a special tune of some sort.

Received mine today from AJUSA! Thanks!
Installed it without issues. Well Engineered. Very impressed and exceeded my expectations on design. Doesn't sound as 'mean' as the custom CAI V2 that I made. It does sound 'different', not as deep of a growl as I would like, but more of a kazoo type sound IMO. However, nonetheless a good system for the money. It's a keeper and will remain on my car. |

Attention!!!
Okay, maybe this will help. I don't believe this problem is unique to the Airaid system. I have the Injen system and John's tune, and I'm experiencing the same thing. See here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15526 In summary, if I try to open the throttle quickly from a low rpm state, like rolling from 5mph in 1st gear, the car builds revs slowly and begins to bog and jerk near 2000 rpm. It sometimes gets better, and I usually have to let go of the throttle. Progressively opening the throttle is okay. I haven't had a chance to contact John about this since I know he is a busy man. I can't say for sure if it's related to the tune or the intake, or both because I'm not usually in a situation where I need to floor it from a really low rpm state.
