I go to a meet and usually look way out of place. Sort of like some old homeless guy just wandered in looking for handouts. Mind you I never shut up (surprise?) so have no problem talking to perfect strangers.

Oh god, an AT, FI, RB, vaping, bro looking for likes on Instagram or FB while saying the car sucks and he is getting a Mustang would blow this forum apart!

Oh odds are if he fits all of these categories would just be a hard parker anyway so there would be nothing to fear from a Mustang.

You're probably ok with mediocrity, and there isn't a thing wrong with that. MGB guys are ok with things not working half the time because they know how to mend. When you have to put more effort into something that really is necessary, it's unnecessary.

Of course this will get called lazy, and that's ok to. We don't all feel comfortable at the same temperature.

From your previous posts, it's pretty clear your extremely negative feelings on this car. I kind of wonder why you even bother hanging out in an enthusiast board for it.

When my car wasn't FI, daily driving it felt like just about every other car with a 2.0L or smaller engine in traffic. It was ordinary and definitely not sub-par. Still, my FR-S looked better doing nothing than any Sentra, Corolla, Civic, or CRZ. Want more? Driving this car at its' relatively low limit is where the fun is. With that in mind 0-60 in 6.x seconds is not bad at all. That was the stated goal of Tada-san. Did you expect something else?

But really, how about a link or source for this part below? I'd be willing to guess that there quite a few cars from both Toyota & Subaru that deprecate faster than the 86 (e.g. Yaris, Corolla, Prius-C, RAV-4, hell probably even the Avalon. And from Subaru, my guess would be that the pre-2015 Forrester, Impreza, and Cross-Trek, also deprecate equally or faster). What's your source for this statement?

BTW... I ran my 2013 6MT FR-S at "Very Good" condition and its' current mileage (28k) and the value Kelly Blue Book returned was $17,855 (purchase prices was $26.5k). Standard mileage (36k miles @ 3 yrs returned $17,200) How in anyone's mind is this faster than any Subaru or Toyota? If you just made that up, please say so. Otherwise a link would be really nice.
I'm here to see what new and interesting things come about from this community, to see what kind of direction it take. My opinion isn't popular because it isn't supportive of the platform, but I don't see why only supporting opinions should be posted.

That last few things I can remember driving with less than two liters are an NA Miata and 06 Corolla. I don't recall being annoyed with how either of those managed in stop and go traffic, but that could be to do with expectations. As for being fun at a relatively low limit, removing the muffler from a moped would be analogous to that, in that it would make a lot of noise while barley moving but it'd be fun for someone. I think that's what the bosozoku crowd is known for come to think of it. On a race track this car does come alive, but that is driving at the upper limits... the 9/10ths.

If the car feels good to you, I can't argue that that's not how you feel. I mean, who am I? You?

And I definitely made that last statement up, as I was only comparing it in my head to the Impreza WRX (TCoat knows this). But let's look

We'll go with a 2013 MY

2013 FRS MSRP $24,500
2013 Corolla S MSRP $19,060.00
2013 Impreza 2.0i Limited MSRP $21,995

I did an autotrader search around the HTX area code of 77010

2013 FRS (26,125 mi) $18,993
2013 Corolla S (27,108) $14,340
2013 Impreza 2.0i Limited (26,482) $18,519

FRS Difference (-$6,507)
Corolla Difference (-$4,720)
Impreza Difference (-$3,476)

(Source)

That suggest my point, albeit I wont' say it proves it because I didn't include ALL Subaru and Toyota models.

Too summarize, you're right in I don't think much of the car but that's not reason I shouldn't say so.

Sure you can say you don't like it all you want. Nobody has an issue with that. My objection comes in when you throw around absolute bullshit (such as the car is useless in traffic) and try to convince others that your lack of ability is the car's fault in some way.
Cool you don't like it, then sell or trade and move on instead of bitching and moaning about how bad it is and trying to call out anybody that has zero issues. We have had this conversation before and as I said then you will just grow bored with the next one and then the next and so on forever.

Now lets compare apples to apples instead of sports coupes to family sedans

5 Year Depreciation Edmunds Forecast (not a random hand picked selection of prices from Autotrader) http://www.edmunds.com/scion/fr-s/2013/cost-to-own/

Genesis coupe - $7,531
Miata - $7,626
Mustang V6 - $6,298
WRX - $9,651
FRS - $7,509

Now things look more in line. So yet again your argument is skewed to present your point of view.

I'm a die hard manual guy myself after owning a 06 Si Coupe, 88 A70 Supra Turbo, 02 Celica GT but the AT in the FRS has won me over maybe if the opportunity comes for a manual tranny I don't mind but for now I'm happy with the crisp shifts. Just go out in the canyons or something and enjoy driving .

Whoa... well.. this thread... heh

Anyway... Is it weird that I want to add FI to my BRZ eventually? The car probably would have cost me 45k in total by that point? Wheels, suspension, full exhaust, SC, and all the labor combined.
The way I see it... I look around at other (new) cars for 45k and I don't see anything I'd want to pick over the BRZ.

The lack of torque down low is annoying for traffic, sometimes, I can see that. I tend to blip to 2K RPM when in stop-and-go traffic just so the engine doesnt sound like a tractor as it tries to make my car creep forward. Or god forbid I'm on even a slight incline and I stall because I don't give enough gas.
Its just not as smooth I guess?

Once I'm rolling around on the highway though, passing other cars and whatnot really isnt an issue. I'm already hitting speeds that would get me in trouble while passing.

Our car isnt practical. None of the cars discussed in this thread are practical. No matter what, you're not spending your money wisely if you have one of these cars. The question is, what do you want to waste your money on?

I was in the same boat. I decided to sell the car, maybe get an 09-10 cayman S, or a new golf R or focus RS if I could get my name on one. Ended up going for a 1990 300ce benz. fuck it
