My oil temp shows no data. !!!!!!!! Can anyone help?

When i follow the instructions for the custom PID and input the details to set up the oil temp, I don't have an option for OBD header. Is this important? Why doesn't my Torque app have it. I am using a cheap LG phone with android 2.3.

Also, when I restart my Torque app, it has deleted the custom PID.

Many thanks, great thread.

It's probably because you can't enter the ODB header. I just checked and it looks like the free version of Torque (Torque Lite) doesn't have a field for OBD header like you are describing. Didn't realize it before but it seems that this PID may only work with the paid version (Torque Pro). Maybe try that? I did experiment with different OBD headers and the only two that worked for me were 7E0 and Auto, leaving it blank resulted in no data.

Hope this helps.

The mods have concluded that there is not enough information at the moment for the thread to be worry of a sticky, although maybe once we reverse engineer more PID'S they will sticky it

Ill do a screen shot of ecutek tonight to see what data it pulls so we can compare to torque to see what else we should get.

Talking Oil temp video

Got it working (thanks Andrey) and did a video when trying it out (sorry about the shaky mount for the Nexus 7)

This is the A537 to the Cat and Fiddle, in the Peak District National Park, England.

Torque Pro has quite a bit more to offer compared to the lite version, and it's relatively cheap for what you can do with it, in my opinion the developper deserves the money, he's constantly pushing oit new updates to accommodate newer vehicles etc, he has done an amazing job with the app.

Cheers,
Brody

Converting the torque code to xgauge code

Thanks, Andreyiv.
I am trying to convert your code to xgauge code. This is what I got so far:

TXD 07E02101
RXF 056106010000
RXD
MTH 00010001FDD8

I am trying to figure out the location of AC, and then I looked at elrod’ scan result:

Command: 2101 response:01F
0:61 01 00 00 00 00
1:55 64 46 3E 64 3F 00
2:00 00 00 00 0D 2B 55
3:21 20 00 43 06 CD 09
4:63 2F C9 3E 00 00 00

It looks like the bold parts are the A and C, but they aren’t.
Can anyone give me the response when sending 2101 and the corresponding oil temperature? Thank you.

Hi There,

I followed this thread now for quite a while because I built a Torque theme for the German GT86Drivers Community. Becuase Anreyiv found out the PID of the Oiltempratur I now included it into my theme and released it as an RC1.
  • You can find my metric theme here: Toyota_GT86_Theme_RC1.zip
To use it you just need to extrackt the zip-file into the \.torque\themeDir folder. The folder might be hidden, so make sure your filebrowser shows also hidden files.
  • I also uploaded my dasbord:Toyota_GT86_Dashboard_metric_RC1.dash
Put this file into the folder \.torque\dashboards\, then start Torque and got to "Realtime Information" > "Settings" choose "Layout Settings" and import the Layout/Dashboard.

At the moment I use three screens. They look like this:

My Setup looks like this:

I just have to figure out how to connect the phone to a charger, because Torque needs a lot of power...

If you got any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Have fun & Drive Safe,
Michael

Figuring out AC was actually what took me the most thinking and was the most frustrating. In the scan you provided it's value 3E (22 degrees C) on the line that starts with 4:. Torque seems to work the same as Excel, one past Z is AA, two is AB and so on.

Hope this helps.

@GT86vs944 if you like, i can add your gauge design to the OP, also maybe a suggestion since there is a lot of people using the imperial system on these forums maybe make a set that say mpg instead of l/100km?

You're right, I haven't really thought about that, but it is not a big deal to change that. So I created a non-metric Torque Layout for the GT86. Sure, you can add everything to the OP, would be nice to maybe state my nickname
The screens now look a little different because theres only MPG and no GPM option in Tourque (at least as far as i have seen. So i put die 0-6mph and the 1/4 mile time on the "home screen".

If you have torque pro you can run the knock detector plugin; https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...kills.kd&hl=en

I havn't tried it though, but it has a good rating so I'm sure it works well
