Ford made horrible decisions a decade ago. Their whole line up sucked. They have polished the mustang very well, but its limited by the sins of the father. Again...wait for '15.
Now, the BRZ is one of the most competent cars I have driven, as well as the lightest. You won't find anything out there that makes it look bad, at any price point. Faster, better, sure, but nothing out there will make that car feel "wrong".

I know... it's the V6, but it has the performance package which is supposed to be better than the GT's stock suspension.
Thanks for posting that, I think that is a perfect summary between the two cars. The Mustang is a heck of a value if you are looking for the American muscle style performance car, but if you buy a Mustang, you really gotta spring for the V8 which adds considerably to the long-term cost especially when factoring in gas (V8 gets about 8mpg less on average vs a BRZ/FR-S).

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 15 Mustangs concerning this head to head comparison and what happens with the price of the Mustang.

I'm not a fan of the 370 in any way, but I do think the article was a little harsh.

To everyone complaining about the mustangs I can guarantee none of you owned a GT500 or Terminator.

i kinda gave up trying to convince you that the current mustang isnt the mustang they made seven years ago. i was simply shedding light on the fact that you havent driven one and according to you might be talking out of your own ass.

I disagree. My 370z is a huge fail. Just buy an altima and save money. There is a reason a ton of people on the 370z forums dumped them for...the better handling mustang w/track pack.

I know they have changed the engine, some of the exterior, and tweaked the transmission since the fifth generation Stang debuted back in 05, but have they modified much of the suspension?

The GT500 looks impressive for sure, but I still would not own one for $55-60K+. I would probably get a Porsche Cayman S or the new Vette.

i listed some of the stuff in an earlier post. things like new springs, shocks, sways, power steering and they did some things like increase the torsional rigidity and improve aerodynamics. i think its pretty significant. you dont get in comparos with the m3 with what ford had to offer seven years ago imo.

Just people with different opinions on what they like. Nothing wrong with that. Would you be happier if everyone sold their car for a Mustang GT?

I think that is fair. I looked closely at both the V6 Mustang with the performance pack and the V8 Mustang with the track pack. Performance wise, if you are looking for the most performance for the buck, the V8 Stang with the track pack is probably the best deal out there (the V6 was no slouch either, but I would have a hard time not spending a few thousand more on the V8 since it is noticeably faster). The dealer was trying to give the V8 away to me since it was a 2013 that he was trying to get rid of. But, like I said above, the car is just not for me and I prefer more of a drivers car since this car is my daily driver and MPG was something I had to consider especially since a big chunk of my driving is city vs highway. I know one thing, I preferred the Mustang over both the Camaro and Charger. It was not even close for me. I sat in the Camaro and could not wait to get out of the car I hated it so much.. The Charger, to me, feels like I am driving a huge heavy boat around. Someone in my parking garage has a Super Bee and I parked next to it the other day in my BRZ... I should have taken a picture because it looked like 2 BRZ's would still be smaller than a single Charger Super Bee! The thing is massive...
