GT5 was absolute garbage and an embarrassment to the series. A game that took nearly the span of entire console generation to release that was riddled with poor game design choices and problems that have plagued the series since the first title. Horrendous vehicle AI, embarrassingly bad sound effects, complete lack of realistic vehicle damage, bland, sparse, and empty feeling grind-fest of a single player mode. In addition GT5 added all NEW gripes, like the premium vs standard cars, which look hideous and make up for most of the "1000" cars. Then there's that claim of "1000" cars, when a good 50 of them are Skylines, another 30 or so are Silvias, and you've got at least 15 or 20 each of S2000s and Miatas. The cars they DO have are often at least one model year older, and usually two or three model years old (DLC helps, but that wasn't an option before 5). I own pretty much every GT game I could get my hands on, including rare inter-release games like GT4p and Tokyo-Geneva. I loved the series for many many years, but I absolutely cannot stand GT5. It's a game that lives in the past and re-lives its old mistakes over and over again, not to mention that it's all but impossible to play with any kind of precision while using a standard controller (something Forza and most Codemasters games are perfectly capable of on 360). The developer's head is so far up his own rear end he can see the back of his own throat. Many other better more fun games have come along pushing GT into irrelevance. It sells on name and hype alone. I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in such a highly anticipated game.

That's always been one of my biggest complaints about the PS3 was the controller. Despite whatever "lag" may or may not exist, it feels like the joysticks have this dead zone in the middle. If 0% is neutral up and 100% is all the way in a given direction, it feels like the from 0-50% of movement, there's very little response. Then in that last bit of angle, there's a drastic jump. Again, this could all be programming within games and not something universal, but just like adjusting mouse speeds on computers (which I also hate) when the movement is not uniform, it's difficult to predict and difficult to be accurate quickly. Additionally, the tops of the sticks were rounded, meaning your thumbs slipped off them if you held any direction for extended periods of time (like say.... walking forward...). This is remedied in the PS4 though! Lastly were the awkward placement of the twin sticks in relation to each other and relation to the triggers. Makes for a very uncomfortable hold to use primarily the twin sticks and trigger buttons (like in most racing and shooting games). Maybe it fits some peoples' hands better than mine, but it is awkward and uncomfortable and slightly counter-intuitive, at least for me, since what the triggers actually DO are often flipped from 360 to PS3. I keep wanting L2/R2 to be ADS and fire, not L1/R1, not a biggie since both sets of PS triggers are uncomfortable for me to use regardless, I'm just used to LT/RT.

Not that I have an opinion or anything........

I always find shooters with a controller more difficult, laggy, and less precise. Even if I play for a long time, I'm still too accustomed to mouse+keyboard. Something good like a Deathadder or G400. Perfect sensors, no angle snap BS, no acceleration. Give me those PC headshots and leave the auto-aim body hits to the consoles.

PS4. FWIW, anyone who's still considering buying an X1 after the E3 announcements are basically just retarded. Only blind diehard fanboys would buy that system, which forces DRM (constant internet connection), and conflicts with the first-sale doctrine and basically spitting on consumers with how they handle "resell" or reuse of game software. I could care less if that system ended up being better. I'm not giving my money to a company that just blatantly showed how much consideration they have for the consumers through that bullshit.

Steam is bad enough as it is. Don't need it spreading to everything else is this damned world. If I buy a fucking game, its my fucking game. I'm not renting it from the publishers, and I'm not renting my console from Microsoft. I bought and paid and now have ownership of said property.

If anything the X1 just showed you might as well have a PC (like I do) for your other gaming purposes, and a PS4 for console play.

Im a playstation guy so definatly the ps4 for me. if people want to buy an xbox, that doesnt really affect me.

But ive been looking into e3 and lots of things are getting my interest (surprisingly)
The top of my list is the new tom clancy division. A few of my friends are excited for that game so that kinda brought me on board.

But in terms of racing, im pleased to hear that gt6 is coming pretty soon (to ps3) Im not a hard core racer so i dont really get why so many people hate gt5. i enjoyed it. It looked nice and played well. Also i really enjoyed the photo travel and photo modes. Made alot of nice wall papers for my comp and ps3. I hope those features will come back in gt6

The other racing game i really really want is ubisoft's "the crew". unfortunatly none of my other friends like racing games so unless i find some cool people online, i might be forced to pass this one up. Id hate to play with strangers because either they are way too good and dont want to play with me or they dont have any desire to teamwork and just drive off by themselves

Just when I thought I might be swapping over to Xbox. Both the debut and the E3 conference is enough to keep me with PS4.

The $399 pricetag vs the $499 pricetag is also the icing on the cake.
