I have heard good things about Optimum No Rinse and some others. I didn't realize they had a softening effect on the water. I'll have to get my hands on some and try it out.

I was hesitant to try it and put it off for years. Then I moved out here (AZ) and found out my (previous) condo association had rules against washing vehicles outside. I bought some ONR, two buckets, grit guards, a grout sponge and started washing my car in the garage. I don't think I'll ever go back to routine "traditional" washes, it's THAT good...

Are any one elses crickets dying? Mine are chirping than stopping on and off while the car is warm sounds like they might finally be dying off in there lol. I tried it with and without the a/c on and they are definitely trying to go away.

Looks like we've got enough for our own run group. We still have plenty of room for more people, the track owners will split the whole group into smaller run groups and just extend the night longer (on track til 11 possibly) so everyone has a chance to get four 20 minute sessions in.

I had my pump replaced ~ 6k miles ago and i never heard it since. Ahhhh its nice! My car stopped stalling out at lights so much too! It used to do it w/ ac off quite frequently and when ac was on it was stalling at least once per drive. Now it is rare that it my idle drops that aggressively. And people don't ask why i have crickets in my car. lol

I just hope them going away is not the pump trying to give out. Other than that I would be glad it has been so bad lately I have to turn the car off if I go to a drive through window.

Hmm... I've been battling the idle dip issue for quite some time now. I've already had my pump changed twice still have crickets but do you believe the idle dips are due to the hpfp?

Well I have mild dip surges as well as crickets. My pump is on order so we will see what happens when its replaced. Althpugh my dips are very mild and the crickets arent very loud compared to some ive heard.

If the pump is having a lot of issues you will get a CEL. As if the pump isn't functioning you would get a lean spot and the port injectors would need to compensate.

As for my stalling issue... it seemed more on the abnormal side. It was pretty bad. The whole car would shake pretty bad and anyone in the car would immediately stop what they were doing and ask wtf was wrong with the car. The car would commonly stall out at lights if I ever tried to release the clutch the slightest bit. Also to mention my car had crickets from mile #1. It got to the point I couldn't go to a drive through, bank, pharmacy, nothing without turning off the car. If I remember correctly i was also getting loud clicking sounds at odd times and then the idle would stay consistant. it would pulsate in something like 30 second intervals of rough idle... then a drop, and a huge surge, loud click, and smooth idle for 30 seconds. It wasn't just one of the random bits like others were getting.

But now i have the "normal" idle surge / drop issue. Which is just fine.
