My brother-in-law's GTR shot flames at 156mph on the freeway... Now that was cool...

Are you so lazy you didn't even bother to read the original post, which is only two sentences long, the second of which is asking for opinions? Holy shit....

Here it is again, just for you...

"I've seen set ups in hot rods where they inject flammable gas in the exhaust stream and have spark plugs near the tips. What are your thoughts?"

I've even bolded the important parts for you...

And I'm pretty sure you meant "argumentative", not augmentative...

Install a turbo
Place the MAF sensor before the turbo, ala "Draw Through"
Make sure your BOV vents to atmosphere

Enjoy your exhaust flames/pop as your motor runs super rich during WOT/Boost shifts

Thats the "proper" way to do it, although running a Blow Through MAF is better but doesn't give you the exhaust pop/flame which is worth at least 15rwhp

Thank you for picking up my spelling mistake and being a knob at the same time.

If you read the title it also has "I want to shoot flames from my exhaust"

There is a question, and asked what peoples thoughts were. Did he ask to be shot down? No.

OK, I'll admit...I was being pretty harsh. Let me explain my opinion a little. Mods like this are designed to attract attention. They don't really enhance anything on the car...it doesn't make it look better or perform better. Their purpose is basically to scream LOOK AT ME DAMMIT. The intention is to get people to think/say "woah, that's so cool", but that's not the reaction you're going to get...at least not with this car. It's a little more acceptable on hot rods, because they are so custom that their very presence screams LOOK AT ME. This car...and any other mass-produced car...does not have that same presence. Trying to force it just makes people laugh at you, think you're an idiot, think you're a "ricer", etc. Basically, it will have the exact opposite effect you're looking for. You will be getting people's attention, but will not win over their hearts and minds and think you're captain awesome and get women to throw their panties at you. You're just going to get sneers, laughs, and rolled eyes. So, you're going to go through a lot of effort to install a system that will make people think you are an immature asshole.

If you do it naturally, at least you're getting performance out of it. Flames out the exhaust look cool...I'll admit. But doing it on purpose is like cheating...like a fake BOV or speaker turbo. Natural exhaust flames show that you have some serious shit going on under the hood. Unnatural (fake) flames just say you have a load of shit between your ears.
Amen

unfortunately its seems to derives from the self impowerment of owning and loving Ft86. i personally like it better before 2nd and 3rd wave of 86 owner aquired the car. it was only respect with the occasion smart ass comment and then the smart ass would give you the answer. but now the acceptance of douchieness has spread like a plague. everyman for one self. the attitude is I look down on you because i self proclaimmed better than next 86.
its to be expected also immaturity plays huge factor in this but first and foremost its human nature. expect nothing ultimately you better off.

I haven't run into anyone terribly mean. Stick with the Regional sections of the forums. As for the flames, seriously, real flames from performance are awesome. Fake flames.... I dunno.

You can squirt some fuel out the exhaust valves just don't run any cat converter.

People,

This is not your car. This is HIS car. Stop being elitist pricks, answer the question, and move on.. OR alternatively you can choose to NOT post anything and move on to the next thread that piques your interest.

OP, to answer your question, you can install a flamethrower type kit on your car, or you can get a tune done that runs super rich in conjunction with removing both catalytic converters - likely an aftermarket catback with a straight-through canister muffler design and that'll shoot flames as well.

Don't let this turn into Honda-Tech, guys.

The question was "what are your thoughts". We answered that. You are answering a question that wasn't even asked.
