Just cause u dont understand doesnt = irrelevant.

What is the MS patent for? The link shows alot of text from the person who wrote it (read NOT MS). If its for tech that allows the kinect to count # of people in a room... Then congrats, cause the kinect does that. Has no direct implied "well we can turn off movies if u have over 100 people in the room". Please provide the patent info or stop trolling just cause u dislike MS or because u fail to understand things.

I'm bummed at the PS+ fee for online gaming, but it's cheap enough with netflix for me to afford.

9 of my close friends all pre-ordered the ps4 last night, and there was plenty of people on my facebook that got the PS4 preorder as well no one i know is excited or even thinking about the xbox one. And thats because we all had 360s and spent so much time on halo exc exc. Microsoft really really shot themselves in the foot.

For social gaming the PS4 wins this round hard for me, and in terms of sheer features as well. The lack of a upgradable hard drive on the xbox, the 100 dollar price diff, the shitty DRM make it a no buy for me. I preordered my PS4 on amazon as well.

LOL....War on. Anyways, I don't care about sharing games with friends, neither do I care about Used game or not.

1/ If a game is good, and worth it, I ain't waiting for months to buy a Used game. I buy it on RELEASE DATE. I also Ain't selling that Game title back to Game Stop, if It was good.

2/ Hardware Wise, I rather buy a PC for gaming. HDMI out put and you are SET!

3/ Traditional Controller + Buttons and Sit Still to Press a Button is 1980 Style. Kinect 2 is the way to go, where every Movements of your Body Determine your Character Moves, where you Play game the way it is (Exercise your body.) This is another way from Microsoft for saying

AMERICAN, LET"S NOT GET FAT

4/ From 3* I Would be Enjoying my X1 to have fun and Exercise myself, rather than running into a GYM where people sweat can get in your face.....

Oh and Hold on to your "Xbox FANBOY comment" Because I Never Owned any thing XBOX

To be fair, Sony patented a RFID DRM patent to block used games sales as well. Just because something is patented doesn't mean it will be used.

360 didn't have Bluetooth either. It uses a proprietary wifi stack to communicate with the controllers, hence needing first party licensing for 3rd parties to make hardware that works with the Xbox. Thus Fanatec making the only (decent) wheels, AND the price of those wheels costing more for the Xbox-compatible versions. You didn't think they'd just waive that cost, did you?

PS3 didn't have region lock either, but publishers are able to region lock discs. Doesn't happen often though. That means, yes, you can import those awkward Japanese titles you know you want to try but wouldn't buy at the store.

It leads to the majority of games on both platforms often running better on 360. This has also been my personal experience owning both systems. If hardware is not utilized properly, it doesn't matter how fast it is. It's the same reason why 60s hotrods that make 700hp can put down slower lap times than some kid in a souped up 1.8L civic.
That's great and all, but that was the old and this was the new. We're on a whole different ball field. The PS3 eventually became a lot easier to program for, and Sony has recently lowered the price of the dev kit and become much more friendly for indie devs, allowing them to self-publish. What did Microsoft do? No more self-publishing. You must have a third party publisher or have Microsoft publish your game. Anyway, we're both working on a custom AMD APU now. We'll see what the devs can push out once we have head to heads on multiplatform titles. At this stage in the game, even if one is slightly better, I don't think anyone will be truly disappointed.

I immediately caught that last night. I'm used to paying for Live though, so if Sony is building out their infrastructure I can swallow the cost for multiplayer. I've been doing it on the Xbox since the first one, so I'm not really upset at all.

Considering the natural latency of Bluetooth is something like up to 40ms, I'm glad that xbox used whatever technology it did. Input response is lightning fast from a 360 controller. PS3 always felt a little "off" which is when I looked up latency issues with Bluetooth wireless.

Speaking of unlicensed controllers, I'm not sure how MS deals with it, but no PS3 controller is allowed to be wireless unless it is licensed.

I don't want to start a war, nor will I call you a fanboy, but there are some things to consider.

1. Personally I wait for Steam sales. Rarely do I buy games day-one anymore. It still happens, but I need to really, really want it. Most of the time it's a console title. If not, it was probably a Blizzard title. So no, the used game thing doesn't really affect me. But it affects the ecosystem and is anti-consumer. If you own a physical game, the disc, you should be able to resell it if you so wish.

2. Forza, Gran Turismo, Killzone, Uncharted, Halo, Gears of War, The Last of Us, Destiny. Console exclusives don't live on the PC, unfortunately. Yeah, Halo and Halo 2, and Gears of War were ported to PC, but Microsoft has come forward and said they are no longer doing PC games. They'll publish some small Win8 stuff, but say goodbye to AAA Microsoft Studios PC titles.

3. Okay, so have you actually played Kinect games? It's fun for a little bit, neat as a social gaming thing, but in the end I would much rather have a controller (or preferably keyboard/mouse for FPS) any day. My Kinect functions 50% as a head tracking device in Forza 4, and 50% as a voice-command device for Netflix. Unfortunately, Netflix screws with the Kinect and randomly pauses, stops, fast forwards, or rewinds the videos, so it's been unplugged for a month now.

4. Working out in front of your Xbox sounds neat, and at first it's not so bad. But following a video system like P90X or something would be a more effective way to go if you want a real intense workout in front of your TV, imo. People's sweat getting in your face... I've never had that issue when I was at a gym.

The Kinect is pretty awesome hardware, but imo it has far better uses that have been created on the PC, and is very underutilized, or utilized as a gimmick in Xbox games so far.

No shit, right? How quick people are to forget that whole issue. Them being hacked wasn't my problem with it either, it was withholding the fact that it happened for a while.

What I hope has been accomplished from that shitfest is that Sony has beefed up security and we won't see something like that again from any console host. Neither brands have a fully clean past, but one has a more transparent present/future, imo.

I've experienced no issues at all with input latency on a PS3 or any bluetooth controller for that matter. Sounds more like someone had the TV settings wrong on your end, imo. Hardware latency induced by post processing is a big issue and a lot of TVs can cause it, even in Game mode.

Like I said, MS licenses out a proprietary wifi stack. Buy the license and get the rights to build a controller. Hardware licensing is nothing new though. Remember all the old NES and Sega "seal of approval"s? Closed system hardware means you know that it's going to work, and sketchy counterfeit stuff gets locked out.

If you really give a shit though, and I mean really care because you're playing at a competitive level, you don't touch a wireless controller anyway. Everything is hard wired.

PS4, hands down. Just watch the conferences and E3 and the crowd reaction when Sony announced used games. I've always liked the Playstation specific titles anyway. I owned the first gen Xbox and played Halo. It just went downhill after the first one.

PS4 will be my secondary gaming system while PC stays primary.

PC is always better than consoles except for those "console only" specific titles, which is why I want the PS4.

Wasn't enough to give that much of a shit, but it made aiming and combat difficult in games like killzone and uncharted. Could just be combination of that and programming, but having spent hundreds of hours in CoD (2, 4, mw2, mw3), I got used to the twitchy quick response of the engine with that controller. Playing the equivalents on PS3 felt very odd, including laggy. Could be entirely psychological, could be uncomfortable nature of PS controller to me, could have been a dozen things. But I can't recall having similar experiences on 360 at all.

I think it might have more to do with the Xbox controllers having a smoother joystick (IMO). That is one thing I do like about them, I definitely notice the joysticks being, "crisper" (dunno if that's the right word). They just snap a little quicker.
