That render is the best depiction what it might look like.

I think the render of the blue one above looks great except the exhaust/diffuser.
Keep the weight down and give it a nicer interior (not a bunch of tech crap, just good materials and clean design) and i'll give it a test drive for sure.

Weren't they separating the trims? Maybe this is like you and n2 said, a "S" version of the Impreza.

An AWD coupe from Subi with wide fenders and a mean boxer growl would be epic from Subi's part. Make it cheap and you just filled a exclusive niche in the market never really dominated. At least here in the states.

The WRX concept from the NY auto show was such a head turner but what I have seen so far from rendering of the latest mule rolling around all I can say is why??? I wasn't expecting them to do what McLaren do and turn the concept/design study into a production car just wanted them to keep at least the shape of the concept. And then add their impreza touches.

All in all it just comes down to power and handling.

Exactly. I'm guessing the concept got everyone so overzealous they forget this is from Subaru. Don't count on them to make the production car come close to what the concept looks like.

Reason to buy Wrx.

1/ look
2/ 4 doors
3/ hatch
4/ sporty
5/ all weather fun

Reason to not buy Wrx

1/ look, same old boring look as las gens
2/ engine is now smaller, less displacement
3/ pricewise is getting to 40k mark
4/ new technologies are the same as existed technologies

The car i am now looking forward to is Lancer Evolution XI

1/ look
2/ Awd, all weather fun
3/ sporty
4/ hybrid technology with plug-in
5/ priced sub 50k
6/ all technology in the new evo XI is marvelously into the future of another 20 years. The same as how 3000gt VR4 was built. 20 years ahead of it time.

That is why WRX is no longer interesting. Subaru is just getting old
