I'll get a hold of the apk today. PM me your email address and I'll email it to you. All you will have to do is stick it on a USB drive and load it from there on the unit.

Hey guys,

Ordering the T7109A tonight. Few quick questions:

GPS antenna, is there anyway to use the stock GPS antenna, or do I just use the one supplied with the T7109A and fit it under the airvents (I am replacing the Australian supplied nav unit with theT7109A)

The rear camera, do u need any special wires or will it know when I am reverse and turn on automatically? Currently works fine with the stick nav unit.

Thanks so much for all the information in this thread, it's amazing how much I have learnt reading this!

Tobz

Edit: also do u need to ground the handbrake cable to get video to work while moving or is this unit smart enough to have this disabled from factory?

I don't know all the answers for you. Has a GPS plug in the back, not sure if the stock one will fit as I didn't have a stock one. My T7019A one is installed on the dash as you say.

I don't have a rear camera but all the wires labelled rear camera come with it so assume wires in easily.

There's a wire labelled brake so assume that's a simple wire job. Mine isn't wired so DVD works all the time!

Hey mate,

Thanks heaps for that info. I was looking last night and looks like the stock GPS antenna is also under the dash, so I will just swap that out with this new one.

Good to hear that stock there is no stopping of video while moving.

Just if anyone knows anything on the reverse cam, that would be awesome!

Thanks again for your help!

Ok did some research,

I think if my cam is working fine now, when I install the android head unit it will work fine on that too. This is because the camera is set to turn on when the car is in reverse and the hu will detect this signal from the camera and auto switch to the camera (I think, if anyone could confirm that would be awesome.

Now does anyone have a pic or can explain which wire we connect the antenna adapter kit to, so that the power antenna works?

Cheers

I'm having trouble with my antenna but think it is a faulty adapter.

Others have said to use the p.cntr wire and connect that to the blue antenna adapter wire. I haven't checked it has power but apparently it does from discussion a few comments ago.

See post 669 on page 31 of this thread re using spare red wire.

Also post 3 on this other thread about using the p.cntr wire http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ntr#post983106

EDIT: Sorry, my post above was about power to the antenna adapter for the aerial signal amplifier. You may have meant a power up/down antenna. If so disregard the above as I don't have one.

Yer sorry wasn't clear, I also meant the antenna amplifier.

Let us know which one u end up using successfully. was getting confused between which wire to use. If mine arrives before your new adapter I'll let u know how I go also.

I'm going to a stereo place tomorrow to look at some new rear speakers so going to get them to look at it as I think my adapter or antenna amp is faulty. I've tried two other Perrin antennas after confirming antenna had power. Plugging an aerial directly into HU works so it's not the HU.

Hopefully get it sorted with the new rear speakers as well this week.

Just remembered I had a small dent in my roof and had a dent guy remove it. Was by my shark fin and he removed the roof lining to fix it.

Can't recall the timing but might be that damaged the antenna amp. Should be able to fix it - fingers crossed.

I'm getting old and like listening to the radio!
