well if you had the car 9 months ago it would've been way easier because shops would love to find somebody to show off their parts; in addition to that you should have some money and a lot of free time to manage going to shows, and constantly buying new things to make your car look better

I personally would never get my car sponsored. Whoring out your car for shows/events/sponsor shops doesn't have any appeal to me, unless you crave the attention.
Kinda akin to having a girlfriend who works as lapdancer/escort. |

But I'm trying to get information about getting sponsored because I want to customize my car without breaking the bank. If saving money means having to go to shows or events, then I think it's a trade-off I'm willing to do. I mean, at the end of the day, I would probably go to those events anyway... getting stuff for cheaper or even free surely doesn't hurt. To each it's own I suppose but I don't think having a lapdancer/escort girlfriend is the same thing as getting parts for your car in exchange for some photo sessions or putting stickers on your car are the same thing. CHEERS :happy0180:

Sorry, didn't mean to cause any offense. For a younger guy I suppose its cool to get sponsors etc. But I personally feel that I wouldn't have 100% ownership of the car if you know what I mean.

Normally sponsors only look at built cars once they are over 1 year from the release. At this point $10k of your own money into it is about a minimum too get shops to look at giving you free parts in exchange for a sticker on the car. Also they are going to require you attend every car show within so many miles of your home for a certain number of months so it is very time consuming. I prefer to just slowly build up the car as I have the extra money laying around. Building a car is all about patience not only for good parts to be released but the budget to get what you want. And with a sponsor you have to pretend like you like it even if the part sucks.

Hmmm.. didn't see it that way. Thanks for the insight. Pretending to like a part even if it sucks does sound ridiculous.

Prepare to put pink wheels to match the pink turbo lol. I thought just like you. Had a fd rx-7 and thought get sponsored by Hks, aem, turbonetics, but like everyone says there is nothing free in life. If your getting a free 5k turbo kit, expect to not only be at any event, but every press release and news article. It's not as simple as give me free stuff and ill put a sticker on my car.....unless you have a lambo or some unique one of a kind. I wanted to mod my car too, but not at the cost of it being used every weekend to sit or get test fitted. It's like the company getting a free car to mess with...yours. Save your money, mod slowly and enjoy what you have. The faster you mod, the faster you will get bored IMO.
