I'm planning on fabbing a hitch mount like kask's this weekend. I'll post more pics if it goes well.

Wow, really liking this hitch design! Well done. I'd be interested if you decide to produce.

Got the receiver back from paint and installed it on my car today. First time I've driven around with on there (just test fit it before). It vibrates on the exhaust a little more than I would like but some minor adjustments should take care of that.

Will be starting the fab work on the trailer this weekend so I can really test it out.

I have some good news for you guys.

I have made some dimensional changes to the receiver for better clearance along with a slight design change to shed some weight. Also sent the drawings out to the water jetter to see how much it would cost to make these things. Will be registering as a vendor and starting a GB thread as soon as I can determine a price.

According to CAD, the updated design will only weigh 10.25 lbs!!

Looking forward to buy mine. Any idea when they will be out for sale?

On another note: did you have the chance to try the 1 1/4 J receiver to see if there is enough clearance?

Wicked news! What material are you making it out of? Will you be selling the designs?

Let me know. Weight aside, I'd still love one of these out of stainless. Ya, it weighs more but we get so much salt up here anything metal I install on this car will rot.

And any details on what has to be trimmed?

I cant wait. I stuffed my mountain bike in the back today. Had to take the seat post off and off course the front wheel. Made a mess.

I could get welding on them as soon as I got parts from water jetting. Currently I am waiting on a quote so I can get you guys a price first.

I have not tried a J receiver but can take some measurements tonight and let you if it would fit or not.

Material will be steel and would be powdercoated to help with corrosion. I agree stainless would be awesome, but EXPENSIVE! I can get a quote on that as well just to see what the cost would be.

The way the hitch fits in here either the bumper bracket or the crash beam would need to be trimmed. You can see in the pic below. With my design I opted to trim the crash beam and clear the bumper bracket. (this pic is before trimming)

This is the side profile of the crash beam flange and the red line shows where it must be trimmed. This part of the flange is only there because of the stamping process and is about .25"x4".

I ended up trimming my bumper bracket the same way. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
