Took a trip to the local av shop and saw the racks of branded HUs.. comparing them to ours.. its lights years away... the touch, the resolution, the endless possibilities, ... the branded HUs look like they belonged to the museum... ^^

Pre- hooked mine up yesterday to check everything before doing the definative install hopefully this weekend.

This unit is blistering fast: I think startup may be well under 15 seconds and closer to 10!

Capacitive screen works great, Torque runs throug USB, radio reception is outstanding and ... red lights! (Although I think they lean closer to amber, but I didn't really check yesterday).

Pre install went pretty smooth but I needed to swap a wire as the radio memory was gone after ignition OFF. After swapping the wires, everything works fine.

You wouldn't be shocked to know they also run slower SoC's and Windows CE. Look what 1000$+ can get you!

Subaru HU......is the official signature of a Subaru, we use to define so in Italy
Close your eyes and open them inside car....the HU will tell you: My name is Subaru.
So, believe me...in Italy we cannot install 18" rims on BRZ as they aren't on registration card and SOI doesn't release auth to mount.....while Toyota of Italy authorizes upon request the 18"s...SAME VEHICLE.

The flexibility of tought is very very near to "ZERO". Subaru's Signature

It's true: as Italians we love design, fashion, style...and we cannot understand how is possible to join a Green Leds HU when all dashboard and internal lightining are red/amber......last week a subaru dealer was wondering about this....

My T7019A was shipped at HK on monday and received/delivered wednesday afternoon in France.
To minimize customs it was declared "monitor" with a value of 80$.
DHL, as usual, applied what they call VAT a lumpsum without any detail or explication and without any reference to customs regulation an amount of 29€. Taking into consideration the total amount involved it was not necessary to contest this amount.
The package is perfect and the connections complete for the Toyota harness.Just prepare the wiring for the reverse camera and the brake contact.
I'm just waiting to receive the antenna harness to mount the headunit in the car. During this time I will have a look on the light to see if it remain possible to change the color.

2 quick questions:

Question 1:

When I put car key in stand 1 the units starts. (engine still off)
When I put car key in stand 2 (so dashboard comes on and car checks itself) the unit also comes on but slightly dims the screen...
When I put car key in stand 3 and the car starts, the brightness level is as in stand 2. (so slightly less bright then in stand 1)

Is this normal/common?

So when engine is shut down and screen is on, it is brighter then when the engine is turning.

I didn't notice this yesterday as it is only a slight difference in brightness.

Question 2:

I can't view video files or video DVD (white message on black screen says no video possible while driving) even when ignition is on (radio plays) and the engine is still off... Is this normal? I understand you can't watch dvd while driving, but it doesn't work even when engine is off... I always get the black screen with warning and in the background I hear the dvd sound playing...

Anyone has some advice?

Just a heads up
Be careful updating YouTube if you keep an Internet connection on the deck. Since the last update I've had problems playing videos.

Have any of you tried RaceChrono timer on your android head units. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...rono.app&hl=en

If I go to the play store it doesn't appear and I can't install from the web as well seems to just not want to install. Head unit has Android 2.3 so I thought it should just work. Had to use my iPhone with Harry's lap timer and would rather be able to use the head unit.

Any ideas @2forme @sav @Narcoden @ph0en1xtk @Ghostmerlott any ideas guys?

You will have to side load it. Do you have a rooted android device that you can download and backup the apk with?

No @2forme the only rooted device I have is the T7019A. I have a galaxy tablet but it isn't rooted.

Are you able to get hold of the apk file for me pretty please?

Then, how do you "side load"? I have the file manager app and a micro SD.

Bit green here. I'm a PC and apple guy and am really new to this Android world!

Another question for you. Put titanium backup pro onto it and it seems to have worked. I put a micro SD into the slot and kinda thought it would backup to there in case the head unit died but seemed to backup internally rather than to the SD slot - is that correct?

BTW @2forme the message when installing RaceChrono is:
"RaceChrono" could not be downloaded due to an error. (942)

I've googled the error and can't really find a solution. I cleared all of the google play data and still no luck
