If I have to choose between better acceleration (235/40 or 215/45) and higher top speed (225/45), I'll pick acceleration everytime.

I know the 235 will fit. I want to make sure it's not so wide that it squirms excessively.

I don't necessarily agree with that statement, particularly on cars which have such an intrusive rev limiter and based on the size and style of course you may typically run on.

With that said, the gearing and top speed differences of a 235/40 versus a 215/45 versus a 225/45 is so negledgable I would not consider one an advantage over the other based purely on a rolling dimeter basis, it is all within noise. Which tire provides maximum grip while still being "happy" on the wheel diameter is the way I would go.

FYI, my BFG Rivals 225/45-17 are actually wider than my 235/40 ZIIs.
Guess the metric system is still a mystery for many US companies...

No noticeable squirm on the 235 ZIIs. I'm on my second set; love 'em.

FYI, for the first post, here are the numbers quoted by Whiteline for their 22mm front sway bar. Mine should be here next week.

Soft Setting - 118.5%
Hard Setting - 174%

FYI most of us running in RTR/CS (and even STX) and using Whiteline front bars are using their 20mm bar. I'm not aware of anyone using the 22mm bar without also using their larger rear bar. I can't imagine running a 22mm bar, I feel the 20mm on the second hole is too much front bar.

I'm still on the Hotchkis; I know it's a little too big, but I'm not dumping it for at least another month or two. I keep changing too many things each event and need a baseline. I'll probably move to the 20mm Whiteline or Strano eventually.

Why baseline off something you know is directionally incorrect? Id suggest you'd be better off baselining with the stock bar than doing that.

I ran the stock bar last year. My ~PAX position from this vs. last year shows I'm much faster on the Hotchkis than stock, but every event I've done this year has been under 50 degrees or rainy. I'm not convinced the Hotchkis is incorrect, but I'm not sure it's ideal. The DC Pro this weekend will give me a gauge of how far I am from where I want to be... but the looming rain may still not help me find a comfort zone.

Tirerack has 17x7 RPF1s on backorder until the end of July. Discount Tire Direct doesn't sell Enkeis.

Does anyone know where else I can pick up a set in the near future?

If the rules go through as published what about this option...

225/50/R16 BFG Rivals on 16x7 rims.

You'd get a lighter rim, and tire is same weight and tread width as 225/45/17, but a slightly smaller diameter over 225/45/17.
